Spell factory upgrade makes the game close to unplayable
Many people have strong feelings about hero upgrade and usage but I am of the notion that the more crucial upgrade is the spell factory. Although some people are friggin wizards and can get decent high level attacks in without spells (or really just without always using all of them..but it's still impressive) I am not one of those cats. The spells I take into each attack aren't there for backup they are a crucial part of the strategy. Having to go days without spells makes the game basically unplayable for me. The ways certain things become usable and unusable during upgrade is a pretty confusing mess and as anyone who reads the forum knows...is a huge source of contention surrounding hero upgrades. Why do they mystically wake up for war defense only? Same type of questions arise for me regarding other aspects. Why am I allowed to even play the game when my TH is upgrading? Shouldn't my entire village shut down for a few weeks? Why does an army barracks become unusable when its undergoing upgrade but an army camp still works fine? Shouldn't I have to attack with one friggin arm behind my back with 60 less troop space? Because it totally wrecks my attacking ability, you might say? Well how does suddenly not having the use of spells for days at a time not wreck my attacking/warring ability. On top of the much maligned hero usage being changed, SC ought to consider making the spell factory usable at the lower level while upgrading because taking my spells away is just as devastating as taking away one of my heroes, if not more.
