Occasionally, I'll spot an ad listing 10 mallets, deeds or markers at 1 coin, 10 coins, or half-priced. Before my long leave of absence from Hay Day, I rarely noticed this. Until, I started playing again a few days ago

Okay, I admit I did not think much of this, however, I just went through newspaper and found one of these... selling 10 mallets for 1 coin. It cannot be selling to a neighbour and accidentally advertising, because they are not in a hood.
Level 42 farm, no truck deliveries, 195 player visits in 1 day, revenue (1 day) 539
I looked in fishing area and I am confused... 2 spot opens, but no fish book... nothing on the land

*cough* bots *cough*
Bot's that are wheating/corning like mad to accumulate mostly Barn, but also Silo tools to try sell them for real money.
Land Expansion tools don't share the same level of demand, so they just sell them at 1 coin so make them disappear as quickly as possible to continue selling wheat & corn cheap also. It's all about preventing; or delaying their Silo & Barn getting full.
If you happen to find one with such traits report it in game to Help & Support. That might help get it banned. No way that would be a legit farm.
There are some legit farmers that 'share the wealth' and sell them at 1 coin; but I'm very confident this is not one of them.
I will report... it is a little different than previous BOT farms I have seen, you know the wheat ones.
Bot organisations - yes they are organised crime - constantly change their tactics in order to get past SC's defenses. Old-type wheating bots are easily spotted and blocked, so new approaches are only to be expected.
I reported this and I have reported BOT farms in the past. I really don't understand the "Why". I guess anything for the almighty buck.
If I did not earn the buck, I don't want it... it goes for everything i do :(
Oh, how better the world would be if everyone thought the same way! For me, I would rather live in a dirt floor hut and know that the bread on my shelf was purchased with money I earned, than live in comfort among things that were given to me or stolen. A person grows a lot of self worth and nurtures fortitude by earning what he/she possesses, no matter how meager those possessions may be:)
Not necessarily a bot farm. I feel like that could easily be a person's secondary farm based on what you've shown.
Just because it's not in a NH doesn't mean it isn't in contact with other farmers, and so those sales could be the helper farm transferring goods to the main farm. That would also explain why there are no truck deliveries.
I see these too often not to believe it's not a bot farm. They only post 1 set of 10 LEM @ 1 coin--and nothing else. The farms also look similar in design, and are around level 40.
Yea, every few weeks someone notices it. Nothing new.
As long as it's not occupying more than 50% of the DD like it did months ago, doesn't negatively affect my shopping and legitimate players aren't being innocently banned...I can live with it.
It's SC's job to monitor the situation and fix whatever needs to be fixed. Farmers need to relax and just farm. Nothing much to see here.
Really Cheddar? A secondary farm that wasn't in an NH with the main farm? That just wouldn't be logical now, would it? Why would anyone risk their goods by transferring them between farms via the DD? People are seeing and buying these items, and doing so frequently, so where is the sense in that? There is none. If it waddles and quacks, then by Occum's Rasor, we can assume it's a duck.
well add me and our neighborhood leader to the illogical bunch. Neither of us have our baby farms in our hood. I guess none of y'all have ever accidentally left the ad on when throwing stuff into a shop? Never? Right? Y'all are perfect...
Seems to to me though this topic comes up every other week... Maybe a mod could combine this with the thread from what, 10 days ago?
Just because you always think it is a bot, doesn't mean it is. BTW there are 10 mallets, 8 deeds and 10 stakes in my shop... All for the princely sum of 1 coin. Better hope none of y'all crying foul are on my GC list or undoubtedly you will pull the trigger oh so quick and report me as a bot.
Oh yeah and to argue again... If it is a bot, where is all the wheat? Cue the theme music from Jeopardy as you ponder on that.
I will leave it to the Hay Day team to decide... I put all clues together and this did not add up to a legit farm. The fishing area has 2 spots open, but it does not even have a fishing hut, book, lure box, or lure maker. I feel it my responsibility to report suspicious activity.
Nah, ur farm is too beautified to be a bot :) I'm sure there are bots out there but I don't have the time to stop and admire each one like a tourist, when I'm shopping. In no way do they affect my gameplay at all. Unless they start sprouting up like weed and start taking over the DD, it's a non issue for me. These threads make mountains out of molehills.
Again, SC's mess...SC's responsibility.
I've heard of the term "bot" before althogh don't really understand it. From what I gather, its a software application that is used. I figured something was off when thousands of deeds, mallets and stakes were selling at lightening speed at 10/1. Who has that much barn space?
I understand there are generous players. Their farms are nicely decorated. Even the simple farms have most of their land expanded. I thank them for helping us when in need of help. There's nothing suspicious about selling a few crates of barn tools/land tools at 10/1 when the farm is obviously maintained when the person is leveling up.
I will try to remember to report when I see a suspicious farm.
I guess you like to live dangerously, oh Cheddar one, and enjoy the thrill of risking your goods being diverted to an unintended destination while transferring. Good for you, but there is no need to dismiss the opinions of others. Bots do exist, even if YOU don't want to believe. *Cue X File theme music. *
Explain to me how transfers are dangerously exposed when transferring? Or why it is more or less dangerous if the baby farm is in the same hood. I really think my brain must have floated away when everything else flooded here.
My baby farm never helps anyone other than me. It has zero followers. Nobody can see or get to my baby farm except me and my main farm neighborhood leader who has her baby farm in the same hood as me.
My main farm has a few hundred GC friends and a smattering of FB friends. Being in the same neighborhood wouldn't protect items my main farm tries to move to the baby at all.
Im obviously totally dense but really do not see how being in the same nh would help my main farm or make it less risky (less than no risk?) for my baby... Perhaps I'm in the wrong hemisphere to comprehend the reasoning.
or here is a possibility, you assume everyone plays their secondary farm like you play yours... Which obviously isn't the case, right?
Then explain to me how you decided it could easily be someone's secondary farm, based on the evidence of the strange aspects the OP reported. I've never seen a legitimate farm with a lake area that looked like that. Do I hear quacking?
BTW, that hemisphere remark is skating dangerously close to being a personal insult, the irony being I am in the Northern Hemisphere and have been for several weeks. ;)
the only duck I see is the ducking and weaving and changing of topic avoiding answering the direct question of how it is more dangerous transferring goods. This thread veered off topic a long time ago. Like it always does.
And i know you have a thicker skin than to be insulted or have your feathers ruffled so don't even go there.
But I am not kidding, I really feel I am missing your point as to how it is more dangerous to have a baby / feeder / secondary farm not in the same neighborhood. So please clarify instead of jumping to a different part of the topic of this thread.
This thread relates to whether or not a particular farm is a bot farm or not. I am not the one who took it off topic by accusing people of assuming every farm that is strange is a bot farm. Enough!
I didn't dismiss anyone's opinions, I just commented on the thread with an alternative outlook.
I don't put my helper farm in my NH specifically to help ensure it's isolation and protect product transfers.
Unless something's changed recently, you can't request expansion materials through the NH request box, so even if my helper farm WAS in my neighborhood, I'd still have to "risk" putting those items in my RSS to get them to my main farm.
I never said I "don't believe in bot farms".
To get back on topic. If you look a little closer, these are not your average bots. There is no lure maker, no fishing house. Even bot farms would still have all of those things. I've heard tell of farms that SC uses to infuse goods into the populous. Could someone verify if this what this is? Nick? If it isn't I could report 2-3 of these farms a day easy. I have pics of 3 different farms with these same characteristics and I haven't even been trying to find them.

No, others differ with your interpretation that it is a bot. That isn't taking it off topic because some of us have a different opinion than you.
YOU took it off topic by stating that nobody would have a feeder farm not in their hood because of transfer dangers. A statement you are unwilling to retract or provide back up to disprove those of us who do so.
Enough? Not even close. I'll argue until the AmooZing cows come home that not everything that doesn't resemble a farm like you run is a bot farm, because that seems to be the automatic go-to for so many here.
Maybe they really want to get rid of it. I know I used to do that with wheat when I used to play the derby.
These "10 for 1" LEM sales from questionable looking farms (bots?) are becoming more and more frequent. Have seen at least 8 instances today alone. Is hay day infusing LEMS due to new fishing spots or land to expand in next update?

Just found another questionable farm! Pretty sure it's a bot! There's more and more in few past weeks!
The ones like this have odd farm statistics (zero truck deliveries) and low farm revenue. When you go to their fishing area, there is no book, no, fisherman, no lobster pool, no duck salon, no net maker, no lure maker
There are so many of these now that HD must be aware of them. Either they are behind them, or they don't know how to stop them? Peculiar, very peculiar
Just found a BOT farm offered 10 mallets for 1 coin in the newspaper. RSS was empty when visited. All BOT farm characteristics are there, including no truck delivery. What caught my interest the most are two things: this BOT farm is level 93. Typically BOT farms found are levels 30-50. All machines are there, including the highest level machine, the tea stand, but all were idle. When the fishing area was visited, as usual nothing was there, but also the boat that takes me back to that farm was not there either, so I had to go back to my farm and opened the newspaper again with a hope was not refreshed yet and tapped the ad again to go back to that farm. Below I attached the fishing area of the farm that concludes me this is a BOT farm, not a real farm.

Yeah those are bot farms and that's how they increase the number of followers to their stand. Once people find out that they are selling land expansion items for cheap, they will follow that farm in hopes of finding more items for cheap :3 These bot farms benefit because they constantly need to get rid of wheat and these followers would buy off them.
