Daily Dirt - What Happened?

Several on my team (including me) are now in the low 40s (levelwise). During the last derby we all noticed that the Daily Dirt wasn't that much fun anymore. It was filled with far too much wheat and not any near as many finished goods as it was during previous derbies.

Is this typical? Is it because as we rise in level the Daily Dirt become less useful? If so...bummer. This is such a fun part of the game having it become so annoying and irrelevant takes some of the fun out of playing. So, I hope this isn't a permanent thing and I will be able to go back to enjoying it. If this is typical I hope the algorithm gets tweaked.

I'm also in the low 40s at the moment. I've too been seeing lots of items such as wheat and tomatoes. Though, I'm not 100% sure that it's because of our level.

It's probably a coincidence, or lots of people deciding to wheat and get items. Since you unlock more items as you level up, something definitely changes about the DD, but I'm not sure if anything in particular is causing what you're seeing

Sometimes when the newspaper gets to wheat-infested, the Team tweaks something and it improves for a little while... sometimes the best treasures found are in the least tempting shops. Check them out!

Items in the DD can be influenced by events. When there is a truck event many farmers run low on produced items, so are less likely to advertise them. Things will be back to normal soon after the event ends.

It's a reflection of supply and demand.

Most players have surplus wheat, eggs, indigo etc so that is what floods the paper.

As stated above consumption events; trucks especially like the current one put a much higher demand on the good foods.

Daily Dirt shopping is typically most difficult during Truck, and also the rare one day Visitor events.

I don't think it's related to your level as such. It seems to go in cycles for me - I sometimes get "bad" DDs where the majority of ads are for wheat or indigo, and then after a day or two, things improve and it's more balanced again.

Agreed - I think the truck event has impacted the paper the last few days. It should be back to normal in 1 day when the event is over.

I'm amazed that you've got into the 40s and never seen a wheat filled DD before!

I noticed, though I could be wrong, that if you sell good stuff regularly in your RSS you somehow get rewarded with a better DD (more varied and more likely to find tools). There are days when I only sell wheat and the DD is boring, all I can see is wheat, strawberries and cloche hats. As soon as I start selling produced goods the DD seems to improve. Has anybody else notice this??
