Hey all. I'm Ed, a brand new Clasher. I've been playing about a week and paid a few bucks to get an extra builder. I've been trying to stay off of strategy guides so I can get the full strategy experience for myself. That said, I'm at TH5 now and I'd love to start getting serious about moving forward. I've read the wiki and some threads, even watched a few videos but before I change my design, what do you guys think of my layout?

Take your time dont rush upgrade all your defenses untill they can't be upgraded any more, then upgrade your town hall
Yeah, that's what I did in TH4 I upgraded my walls and defenses to max, and was tired of sitting on full gold storages, so I upgraded.Quote:

You have a decent base, but the CC is far from centralized and the trap placement isn't optimal. Also, there is no point in protecting your TH until you reach TH7 because that is when you get you're third mortar and second AD. And I know that most people won't want to take a trophy loss each battle, but if you're as devoted as you say you are, then you could easily get your trophies back or even gain trophies. I used a farming base at TH6 and I got to 1500ish cups with it and I only got attacked once or twice a day and 3 stars were much less common. Also, a centralized Clan Castle can have the potential to become the most crucial building when you're defending against higher levels if you're in a good clan. I'm a TH7 at 1800ish trophies and recently joined a good clan and I've been winning defenses 2/3 times against well developed TH8's. If you're wondering what to request for, a combo of archers wizards (I like 3 wizards and 8 archers) can tear through a pack of giants with ease and stop a giant/healer dead in it's tracks. Max out splash first. Save gem for the fourth builder. Decide wheter you want high level heroes or not. Google "you want super heroes don't you". :)
I don't have a clan really. Just me and a dude I know, so it wasn't mandatory to hide the clan castle. Usually I just ask for giants because his are level 5 and its a good distraction.
I'm trying to get the next free builder with trophy hunting now. Almost at 1,000. Tonight I'll upgrade my mortar and start my spell factory. Then work on my reserves so I can start pumping out upgrades for troops via the lab.
