I'd agree if they give 2,000 gems per month even if they nerf every troop in the game

Besides, we already get over 1250 free gems per year from gem boxes alone, not to mention obstacles and achievements.
I usually do a gem raffle each month, it's a $5 buy-in and winner gets 6500 gems. It's a good way if you want to make a quick buck.
I only do it with friends, family, people at work and people I used to go to school with. I wanted to start a website up for strangers to get in on this but it's too much of a hassle.

You get an obstacle every 8 hours and they pay out on average 2 gems.

so, in 5.6 days, the sequence is complete and you have 40 gems .. or 214 gems a month
a gem box spawns once a week on average (I have the data to back up this claim) add another 100 gems to the monthly gem-loot.
All in all, you get around 300 gems a month, for free, just by playing the game.
300 gems isn't enough to reduce the hero upgrades significantly, but it IS enough to boost barracks, hero regeneration or spell production for 60 hours.
60 hours is a long time playing a game, isn't it?
