You don't need QW strategy at TH9.
It appears that SC wants the player base to move away from this attack, so I'd hold out from mastering it unless you absolutely have to (perhaps at, say, TH10/TH11). At TH9, you don't need it, at all.
That is short-sighted. QW is (still) very powerful but more risky since the nerf. During farming you can handle the risk. To use it during trophy pushing is not my cup of tea though.
I'm a devoted "walker" but with the explicit goal to hunt Dark Elixir. I've used it during 'valknado' sometimes, but I wouldn't depend on it during a push.
QW is used for specific goals: either a stage of an attack or a partial take out of the base.
Anyway, search the Valkyrie handbook (\/alhalla files) for the valknado composition. Or go for whatever with at least 4 healers (5 is recommended for a solid QW that can take a hit).
For spells you depend on rages to rage your healers.

How exactly is that short-sighted? As a matter of fact, what I'm suggesting is the polar opposite of being short-sighted. For a while, many people almost automatically teed up QW for just about all attacks & that is not only pretty much the definition of short-sighted, but I also bet not really what SC wants.
And I'm representing, quite confidently, you don't need it at TH9 at all, either for farming or war. I don't disagree that it can be a strong attack, of course it can, but SC appears to be sending a clear message that they aren't a fan of it, so I'm recommending caution, as it might be time not spent well.
Further, in today's game, it's often not even as easy as many other legitimate 3* strategies at TH9 anyways (if we're talking war) or likely even farming too. Attacks like Healer/giant/goblin can be really nasty for farming and far easier to execute
Why would you throw out a great attack just because you can't use it when the AQ is down?
OP, I like 4 Healers, 16 Giants, 8 Wiz (more if you like), 4 WBs, the rest Archers, 2 heal, 1 Rage, 1 Jump, Poison whatever you can get in the CC.
I'm still pulling in 2K+ DE per raid with this comp with a Level 15 AQ at TH9. And 2 staring most TH9s.
