What is supercell doing to Nerf .5 exploiters?

This ignores the fact that pretty much all players use .5 as a transition to becoming a full TH whatever level. Our .5s face full Ths of their level as often as they see THs a level below. I wouldn't think much of a clan that builds a bunch of .5s that stay that way indefinitely, but it's just not that big of an advantage.

The extreme lopsided bases can be a much, much bigger advantage. They do require some thought about how to prioritize certain troops, as well as how to integrate them into the lineup to ensure war MM brings favorable matches. But, it's not rocket science. And, I don't see many lopsided th11s that haven't been heavily gemmed. Based on some comments & the general attitude of folks defending extreme lopsided bases, I suspect many of the non-gemmed ones were farmed with bots, not human effort. You're speeding faster because you've bought a Formula One car & challenged guys who tinker in the garage to a race.

.5s might see a slight drop in their advantage, but it's already a pretty small one in most cases. Extreme lopsided accounts will be hit harder. I suspect there will always be an advantage to having troops ahead of your defense, but you guys won't be able to buy your way to ridiculous win streaks.

I agree with tall the others, why does this need to be "fixed"? These people took the time and effort to make a base that they wanted. They have every right to do that. Just like some decided to ignore walls and focus on defenses. I've seen many a th 11 in Titan with purple and pink walls. The so called "rushed" are playing how they want.

This is a strategy game. They have a better strategy than you do. They aren't cheating, so either you need to learn to do better in war, or just not war in general.

If it were all about time & effort, the vast majority of extremely lopsided bases would be farmed normally, not gemmed. If it weren't a great way to take advantage of war MM to rack up easy wins, no one would do it & no one would complain. People just want fair wars... well, most of them.

Do you see th11s in Titan without Eagle Artillery or Infernos or Xbows? Didn't think so.

This debate is so tiring. Engineered bases are tailor made for a specific reason whether it is a way to get easier matchups or whatever, so what thats the goal dont whine about others understanding the game better. SC will most likely ruin engineered bases because of all the crybabies that dont want to think. Regardless all u nerfers are annoying to me and really need to just get better at the game either by practicing dif atks or by building an engineered base so u even out the playing field. Laziness isnt an excuse and shouldnt be rewarded

.5 bases are just a normal transition into a new TH (for those who choose to build their xbows, infernos, EA at a later time after upgrading their TH). They gain a slight advantage in war but suffer while keep loot to farmers. Everyone can agree this is a smart upgrade strategy.

The problem arises when people upgrade multiple TH levels while never ever dropping their xbows, infernos or EA. These extreme lopsided are the real causes of unbalanced MM.

I'm a maxed TH11 now, but I did take the .5 route prior to maxing my base. I could of remained a 10.5 forever but I didn't want to become a lopsided base forever.

How many wars are the complainers losing due to their base having Infernos and/or Xbows and their opponent not having them.

My understanding is that bases without Infernos and/or Xbows are easier to 3 star.

Or when their opponents bases don't have any defenses. Are the complainers struggling to 3 star those bases also?

Do the complainers ever upgrade their offense? Or are they trying to fight wars with Barbarians for offense, but they have Inferno Towers on defense?

Are we playing the same game?

Hardly. I take far more issue with including extremely low TH at the bottom of the war map than I do with 0.5 strategy.

This times 10. We continue to face this, seemingly on an increasing basis. We literally have had to point many other clans just to tie because they created such a mismatch at the top of the map. And this involves many challenging attacks for our clan. While it is satisfying to point such exploiters in return, I do tend to find them rather pathetic, as the skill level between the two is often alarming, at least in our clan wars. But we don't reap the rewards. As a matter fact, since ties don't result in any war loot, it trashes both clans. (NOTE: You know I love you brother, but you're smoking the crack pipe to compare this laughable activity to outright modding, the latter of which is far more egregious in the grand scheme of things... :) )

I'd like to restate what I said earlier: at times it was extreme engineering, but other times it appears to be strongly related to including, "trash" TH at the bottom as well, like some TH5 or something equally insignificant at the bottom of the war map.

Which goes to what I've been saying for a long time now. Bullying at the top of a war map is what needs to be closely examined. I fully understand that it's tricky and sometimes needs to happen, but that's where the tweaks need to take place. This needs to be minimized. I can say this as well--I'd gladly wait longer for a fairer matchup than to seemingly continuously be stacked against 0.5 bases that get to bully.

No, that isn't what people are saying. The TH11 that carries a war weight of a TH7 (or whatever) that has, say, max offense shouldn't be in a war with no TH11 in the opposing clan. Otherwise, said TH11 can easily triple at the top of the war map and create a serious disadvantage for the enemy clan.

Now, if there were some TH11 in the enemy clan at the top of the war map, I'm much more inclined to say let 'er rip, as this stupid TH can't bully at the top, yet is a very easy 3*. That's much more balanced...

I hope they don't do a thing to .5

I just hope they do not mess with .5 bases. If they really wanted to hit these extreme cases, they could add a minimum war weight for a town hall as the lowest of the TH level below them. For example the TH11 would have a war weight as a minimum TH10. This would allow for people to transition from one TH level to the next and still be able to war. But if you jumped from TH11 with TH9 defenses, you would be matched against low TH10's.
Personally I like the war match SOC has implemented right now.
No one is engineered in our clan, though we do have several .5's. We have run up against a few engineered clans and they have beat us. No fun, ok, but most of our wars are great.
