if you match a good clan with a lot of .5 bases youll probably lose

We have 2 baby th8.5s with ♥♥♥♥ offense. Those are main accounts, just making the transition. Often times we match against clans with 1-2 full th9s more than us.
For example our current war, they have 7 xbows to our 0. We have two 8.5s at the top, they have 6 th9s, half of them with xbows, and nearly all with extra traps. It's a 10v10 war as well...they have double the th9s than we do (one of ours just upgraded so technically we have 3). And before anyone asks, the bottom 4 are pretty evenly matched as well. I have no idea how we got this match...no friggin idea.
If you look at our th9s, most of us are doing the opposite of war friendly engineering, yet we manage to win a decent amount.
Not one...my entire clan, and just about anyone on global. The last time I saw a .5 base was ages ago...
The average clasher simply doesn't do this...and doesn't care enough. The majority of th9s drop xbows before 10/5 heroes...Before you say where are your numbers, this is just a guess based on my observation.
I am suggesting that people with low def and high troops will face the same people in the opponent team.
Every1 can play the style he wants. Engeneered, .5s, maxed... what ever. But stop mixing one with another. Its not a problem of style, but a problem of matchmaking.
If you start a 20vs20 war and you have 5 TH10 without inferno but with maxed camps, valks, spellfactory and another 5 th9 without xbows but with max dragons or whatever then your opponent should have the same amount..as simple as that. If you have to wait 4 or 5 hours to find a clan thats using the same cheap strategy or weird th combination you should maybe think two times if this makes sense or if you maybe just play fair like 90% of the ppl do and upgrade everything at the same time like its supposed to be.
Where did you get this from, especially the 95% figure?
I am, literally, LOL at this. Our 0.5 up attack, they don't bully, ever, unless they absolutely have to, which, in this situation, would be overwhelmingly dictated by the MM.
Our experience is that this is far, far less dictated by some 0.5 THs included in the war and far more dictated by the inclusion of some low TH at the bottom of the war map, like a TH5 or something. We are seeing that much more than defenseless bases...
For our, say, TH8.5s, they are drawing TH9s at an extremely high rate, like in excess of 90%. And of the 10% that they aren't, a portion of those are because enemy clans load up on turd TH, like TH3-6, which are seemingly included solely to lower war weight.
And it works many times too. We just had to go through it...
Any smart clan that is using the .5 strategy can't have all of the TH doing it, otherwise you're exactly right, it's a 3* fest, which makes no sense. Last I left off, and I still agree with it, is that no more than 50% of the clan should be doing the 0.5 strategy, the other 50% should be a PITA to 3*. It appears you are doing it/interpreting it totally wrong
personally I don't put .5 in the same basket as lopsided or defenceless bases. .5s arrive at their new th maxed and intend to finish that th maxed. All they are doing is building their offence first. Because they are maxed from the previous th that means more often then not they will attract other new ths, which is y many people same the benefit can be slight. The only difference being they will have stronger offence than their counterpart because they've priotized that first. It's not the same as lurking at the bottom of the map with a bunch of th7s hoping to get the advantage with more high powered attacks
