Did your account inadvertently get attached to someone else's GC?
This happened to a friend of mine.
What ere you doing previously? Did you log out of gamecenter or apple? Or were you just going along as normal?

I was logged into my gamecenter, I went to change language and when it loaded I got a level 1 village

Same happened to me. I logged on and i had a level 1 village. Then i deleted the game and got my village back. I was confused but happy i got it back unlike others
You prolly logged into a friends device and your village got linked to their gamecenter.
I'd quote you clasher but it crashes my browser.
I only log in on my iPhone.
This happens to me a lot.
Just double tap the home button, press and hold the CoC icon, close it and restart. You should get your village back.
