Stop mining

I was wondering if SuperCell have ever considered adding the ability to stop or pause mining of Elixir or Gold or Dark Elixir for that?
I am a maxed TH9 defence and troops and almost walls. My AQ is 25 and BK is 20. I am farming as much as possible to get these maxed however my walls will be finished a considerable time before my heroes. I have no desire to upgrade to TH10 at this time so was wondering how difficult it is going to be to farm near keep Dark Elixir when I have nothing to spend Gold on and only troops to spend Elixir on. I am going to be a very, very favourable target with all three resources well stocked.
I was thinking if I could pause Gold mining and Elixir collecting this would help me and others in this position...

This is the exact reason why there isn't a pause. It's better for the game and its economy if players are able to attack others and gain loot. If it becomes a problem, you'll need to find ways to spend off your excess resources.

I completely agree, although weirdly I would probably make TH10 quicker if there was an option to pause.

People who are only trying to get dark elixir will still attack you. While I was upgrading walls at TH9, I was attacked by people even when I had less than 50K of each resource, but 2500 DE available.

Only the fanatical maxer religious tenets keep you from doing what you should do and that is go to th10 where you'll have a third drill to help you build those royals and you'll be able to keep spending all that loot instead of dumping it down the bottomless well.
