Overall Game Balance, Getting new players and retaining longtime players...
In my opinion there are 2 clear factions playing this game. Elite/Serious War players, and Elite/Serious farmers that may or may not aspire to be the former. Farmers have feelings about whats overpowered, as do warriors. Maybe there should be some balance between those 2 facets of the game. I've been on the receiving end of waaayy op attacks stealing my loot/cups in multi-player. I have even complained to SC about it before, so I assume there are probably lots of players doing the same thing. These complaints from the farming community are every bit as valid as anyone elses. Then from the war people there are probably lots of complaints about modders and unfair matchups, but I am only guessing the complaints from the war people aren't about OP attacks, as even though they are powerful, they still take great skill and practice to execute. Why should their attacks that they have refined, with troops they have farmed upgrades for to be competetive in war be nerfed? Both groups are right. There needs to be balance. SC is in the unenviable position of trying to make each side happy. In my opinion there is a rather simple solution and it is this.
1. All troop nerfs, ie: witch skellies, air mines for healers etc happen in multi-player only. War strategies and troop uses as we have known them would remain unchanged. So there would be in effect a War Troop ai mode, and a Farming ai mode.
This would allow farmers to more effectively protect their loot, while giving warriors the option of enjoying the troops they have often paid for with real money for more than one update cycle. This would also inhibit modders further (until their software catches up)
2. Allow these same troop parameters to go into effect when one reaches Titans or Legends league.
This would potentially vastly increase the player base in those high leagues and decrease "cloud time", which would exponentially improve peoples quality of life in game.
A further benefit to implementing something like this could be that the millions of people clashing in multiplayer battles could be the "testers" for any future nerfs or buffs.
I think Ashlain said it best in his "End the Buff/Nerf cycle" piece he did a while back. Just my 2 cents....God Bless, keep clashing!!!
