How to Make Pekka Useful Again

The Pekka stops being good once you get to TH9 and above. The Pekka is a really cool, powerful troop, but it's just not good right now. A few tweaks and I think she'll be back in action. I think having a combination of the following ideas would do a lot to bring the Pekka back to attacks more frequently.

• Remove Hidden Tesla double damage: Right now the Tesla does double damage to Pekka, and it shreds Pekka. This is what it was meant to do, but it's a little too effective.
• Remove Hidden Tesla favorite target: Combined with the double damage to Pekka, having the Tesla target the Pekka first, if it's not locked onto anything else, takes the Pekka right out of the fight and basically makes it a non-factor.
• Increase the Pekka speed: A contributing factor to the Pekka's decline is that it's so slow. It walks slow and swings even slower. The movement speed isn't that big of a deal, but the attack speed really needs to be increased. Even with it's high damage, a Pekka can get stuck on high hitpoint targets. It also takes forever to make its way through low hitpoint structures just because it is so slow.
• Bring level 4 Pekka to TH9: I think this should be done regardless of whether the Pekka gets reworked or not. I'm not even sure if this would help bring back the Pekka to TH9, but it's a start. Another reason is that there are two Pekka upgrades at TH10 and none at TH9. TH9 is a lot tougher than TH8 with the addition of X-Bows and the Archer Queen, plus upgraded defenses.
• Bring level 6 Pekka to TH11: I believe that this would occur at the same time as bringing the level 4 Pekka to TH9. It's hard to say whether the Pekka is more useless at TH9 or TH11, so this just makes sense. I'm a TH9 so I'm not sure how the Pekka is at TH10, but I think it's better than at TH9.

I think some combination of these would be good to make the Pekka relevant again. It probably does not need all of the reworks though, because then the Pekka might be too strong. Although, the Pekka is so weak right now that it might need all of them, just don't make the Pekka too fast.

Tbh mate I think if you started tweaking with the troop you would make it just to strong, it is good the Tesla's rip a pekka down otherwise you would suddenly find they were just to powerful for the game.
Which again is why the speed issue needs to be kept the same, a faster more resistant form of this troop would just way out balance the game

PEKKA is useless at TH9, which is why you shouldn't use it if you're TH9.

Some of the ideas I like.

Pekkas actually aren't useless at TH9. I used to farm with one in my CC. It may not be the ideal troop for a strategy to 3 star a base, but when you are farming and trying to save up DE to upgrade your heroes, they work quite well. I farmed with giants, wizards, healers, and a pekka to load up on DE to get my heroes upgraded at TH9.

pekka is not useless for th9... war clan is using HPHB apart of HGHB. check out clash with ash youtube recap on war against one hive. one hive member use 3 pekka instead of 12 giants for the 3s attack. right tool go to the hand of right person is always useful and powerful. it just the way why some people consistently 3s with mass troops and some just can't.

It should just be reduced to 20 Housing Space I think.

But Clone Spell and Skeleton Spell are even more worthless and they need fixing first.

No, no, yes, yes. Hidden Tesla needs to have its advantage over Pekka, but moving lvls around and adding another could help.

I support two of the ideas:

lvl 4 pekka at th9 and
lvl 6 pekka at th11

I think you're one of the typical gowipe people who like to bring 3-4 Pekkas. XD:rolleyes: I think if people quit bringing so many they'd have more room for speedy troops and dps.

Farming isn't a problem at all for me, I'm mainly talking about in wars. Pekkas can certainly be strong, if you're going against a lower level base, such as a new TH9.

I am not in a clan that has access to high level bowlers, and no bowlers at all (for a few days). It may be usable to have pekka instead of giants, but is it as good? As consistent? Since I don't have access to bowlers, I can't really give my input on that. We take wars seriously, but we aren't a hardcore war clan, if you get what I mean.

I think 20 housing space might be too drastic, just like reducing the housing space of the bowlers from 8 to 6 was too much of a decrease.

I completely agree that those spells are useless and need to be fixed. I haven't even bothered to upgrade my dark spell factory, I'd rather have more level 10 walls.

Does the Tesla need both of the advantages over the Pekka? Wouldn't one of them be enough? Maybe keep the favorite target and lose the double damage. I could see Pekka never getting targeted by Teslas if only the double damage stayed. Or perhaps the damage could be reduced to 1.5, like giant bombs against hog riders.

The most I ever brings is 3, it just depends on the base. What would you suggest in place of a Pekka or maybe some of the wizards without completely screwing up the attack? It's hard to keep an attack strategy coherent when you have too many different troops.

The pekka its very useless at th 9+. But at th 8?. The best nerf and unique effective defense of a th 8 against the pekkas are the teslas. A weaker teslas will turn into an extremly op pekka for lower th levels

I haven't used them in war since I stopped gowiping (best decision I made in this game throughout my entire history of playing it), and have attacked only a few times with them since. for farming, I like using what my clan calls pekkanado, but with healer nerf, this strategy will probably die.

All that aside, if I were you, I would bring 1-2 pekkas max and then bring a few valks, skelly traps are no longer a huge issue.

I personally suggested this in a thread of mine among a ton of, unfortunately for you, more important changes for the top end of the game (mass attacks and th11 balance mostly.). my ideas for pekka were this: reduce swing speed to 2s, not 2.5s, and initial swing speed is 1s. tesla does 1.5 dmg as well. new lvls definitely not needed though.

Keep the Telsa, everything needs to have its own weakness.... that's what golems and high hit point troops are for... second yes, speed her up a little bit and if not still move the lvls around. Pekka isn't unless at 9 but it's no three star atrack either. However there are better attacks for 3 star at 9. Rather than go wipe... use vals (while we still can since higher town halls are complaining about them, they will be nurfed soon too) or try goho.. golaloon/ laloon... or get the Queen up and try a queen walk with golems and about 5 drags as clean up...

I want a level 6 Pekka at TH 11, and add a special ability - splits into two Mini-Pekkas upon death.

I don't use Pekka anymore, I use Valks for all of my attacks. I get mostly 3 stars using them, more diversity would just be nice.

Speeding up would definitely help, and I think 1.5 damage would be a nice compromise. You don't think TH11 needs a new Pekka level? I think the Pekka might be even less useful up there. And what about bringing level 4 to TH9?

I don't see valks getting nerfed (they already were a little bit) since there are now better options at higher town halls, and valks aren't an automatic 3 star but definitely make it easier.

Just to clarify, I'm not really looking for new strategies here. I'm perfectly fine with my valk attacks. My heros, troops, and spells are all maxed for TH9. The Pekka used to be a staple for the slightly less technical attacks that were still good, now not so much. Improving them would create more diversity in attack strategies.
