Okay, now I know this thread is sorta dead, but I just gotta share my success with loonion. I've been sorta bored with GiBarch, and decided to give loonion another try. It's been crushing.

Yeah, but the overhead cost of using that strategy is pretty expensive. It looks like it costs you 190,000 elixir and 265 dark elixir every raid. plus it costs someone else (or your alt account) about 25,000 elixir for just 5 maxed loons.
For 90,000 elixir (which is less than half your cost) I can bring 100 barbs, 100 archers, and 3 lightning spells and get the same if not more, plus my take home is more because I invested less in the army it took me to farm it. If I don't use the 3 lightning spells my army only costs me 30,000 elixir. That's like 1/6th of your cost.

When I get pushed up to where I'm going to get into Gold 2 I switch my army to all goblins and get the same raids, without the trophies in order to stay in the gold 3/silver 1 range. That's where the TH7-9 dead bases naturally sit because they get farmed so hard that they drop down, but when they get too low, the lower level this push them back up.
If you watched the video, Jackwn shares Barch first and recommends it as the #1 strategy to farm, but whenever I barch for a long time I feel bored. There's no real excitement in seeing a bunch of tier 1 troops taking loot from collectors, but there's just something to having to deploy loons, time and place spells properly and 3 staring bases most of the time, at least for me ;)Quote:

I recommended aiming for bases that don't have all 3 air defenses in the middle, aim for ones that have them spread out and ones that have air defenses that can be easily reached. Also I love to farm at gold 3! It's where the best loot is and always has been! Been farming in gold 3 for 3 years now
