Is opening locked chests worth it?

Hello folks,

I've recently started playing Hay Day, and I often find chests in my own farm or when I visit other people's farms. Sometimes they're not locked and I get some coins or maybe a saw or shovel, but much of the time they're locked and require 3 diamonds to open.

So, my question is:

Is it really worth it to spend 3 diamonds to open a locked chest? Do locked chests have better stuff inside?

Please comment and tell me what you think, especially if you have opened one before. Thanks. ;)

please dont open the boxes with diamonds!! use this little trick instead - when a locked box wont open, just click on anywhere except for the 'x' and try again on other farms. they will open eventually, it takes about 10-15 mins to open one for my case and i open up to 3x of 5 diamonds each day!

to your question - they may contain barn/silo items, mine items, saws/axes, vouchers, diamonds and coins. the coins increase at each level and my level i get about 580 coins if im not wrong :D

Use this line of thought to decide for yourself: Would you pay the 5 diamonds to get the LEAST desirable thing that could come out of the box?

I know I wouldn't trade 5 diamonds for 600 coins...

only 3 diamonds actually! but still, i wouldnt trade 3 diamonds for 600 coins or worse, an axe lol

Does that work? :) i tried it the other day, but I don't think I did it long enough lol

it works in a sense that you will continue to see boxes on every farm thats all. if you closed it then you'll have to wait for them to reappear and that may take awhile.

Ahh I see :) I hough if you closed it and opened the same one again a few times it might unlock

i feel that it doesnt make much difference - going back to try to open the same one or moving on to other farms. for me at least, both take around the same time to open. it doesnt work on your own farm though, so whenever i see one on my farm i'll just try to tap on it once. if it doesnt open then i'll close it totally :)

Makes more sense, If I find a locked one I usually just "X" it. Tbh I find a fair few that are unlocked already :) but I might try your method on other farms :)
