I am having a hard time getting lettuce. I've been totally out for days! Nothing in the paper, haven't had Tom in quite a while. I left the neighborhood i was in, so nothing with that. I can't make veggie bagels, can't make sandwiches, can't make salads. I can't even make one of the smoothies!
I find that whatever I advertise sells really well. At max price.
I don't normally make chili popcorn or woolly chaps so when I need them I go looking in the paper.
Lucky me when I find them actually advertised rather than having to scour through dozens of wheat or tofu dog ads.
Completely off-topic: (this is a selling thread )
Lettuce is not a commodity you can rely on shopping for them.
You have to do it like how everyone else does, grow your own, keep high stock and never drop below a certain stock of them.
Otherwise it's nothing to be surprised that you are gonna run out of them shortly.
On topic: All of the commodities are a lot easier to sell compared to a while back. :)
When I first started eggs were hard to sell, you had to wait a while or discount on the price. Nowadays eggs fly off the shelves, and you can see people buying 100s of eggs at once. :)
Please see thread below for advice about getting more lettuce.

items 1 and 2 sell better in quantities less than 10 in my experience. But there is occasionally a glut of chili popcorn in part because of the tasks in the derby. I've found selling off these items in lots of 2 at max have them gone in no time.
Popcorn should not take long at all imho. I buy it all the time. And I am sure many others do if they have a boat needing it.
Pretty much everyone makes chili popcorn as it's easy to make so nobody ever needs it. As for popcorn and wooly chaps, I find the opposite; that nobody ever bothers making wooly chaps and people make popcorn but never have the massive quantities needed for boat orders so they get bought all the time.
I never make chilli popcorn, woolly chaps or popcorn so depend on the DD for these items. Popcorn I will definitely buy in lots of 10 as orders for these are generally large but I tend to buy chilli popcorn and woolly chaps in smaller lots unless barn space is available for larger lots. Although my 2 baby farms are starting to fill my needs for these products, I often can't be bothered juggling two iPads to transfer them so appreciate those who do sell them :)
Generally speaking, the easier they are to make; they harder they are to sell. All due to the forces of supply and demand. Most players only sell stuff they can easily make again; and do not sell stuff that is painful to make. Like Pizzas.
All of those 3 products are really easy to make.
Corn is plentiful, Popcorn is a good way to burn through some, especially when Corning.
Chili Popcorn gives you one of the few limited ways to use some Peppers and keeps the machine busy which is good for mastery.
While Chaps are a great way to use excess wool, also keeps machine busy for mastery purposes. At low levels a great money maker too at 309 max. For a brief period there it is the best money maker a low level has access to.
It's supply and demand, there's a huge supply, so much so you see several saying here that they never bother making these themselves (and I never make chilli popcorn or chaps either). And as Dazz points out, they're also attractive for people to make, being both easy and tying up machine for a long time. If you have a shop with a decent number of crates just go ahead and make it, allowing it to sell slower. With a smaller shop that stays full too long you may want to review production strategy.
Maybe sell fewer at one time. Instead of selling 10, sell 2 or 3. I usually don't buy if it's alot of coins. I want to save for the buildings. And I sell 2 or 3 I one crate, and it doesn't take too long to sell.
I'm having a hard time finding lettuce. I can't find I the paper and I don't have Tom. Plus I left the neighborhood i was in. I was going to wait to create one. I'm in no hurry. But disadvantage? Not in derby. Anyway, that's why I can't do neighborhood trading.
Take a look at this thread you started. People want to help you get lettuce.

Just a word on lettuce. I, for one, grow lettuce and sell off in my RSS. So, cultivate good friends through Facebook or game center and they can help get you out of binds. Ditto for a good nh.
