I just read it is possible to leave items next to machine without picking them up when barn is full. I didn't know that, what I thought is that you can keep only two items if you have two production slots in machine and then you have to pick them all before filling machine in order to continule production. What I want to know is how you fill machine without storing items that are on ground in barn?
Your barn has to be full, only then products will stay piled in front of machine.
Would not recommended to do so as it makes normal game play quite awful.

I find it very helpful to have stuff stacked outside machines. when your barn is at 100% make one thing on a machine than I pick up stuff from animal or feed enough to bring barn back to 100% then make something else in same machine or another machine. Also I pick up ore from the mine to bring barn back to 100% or if I am at 99% I harvest so that something drops and brings barn back to 100% and then make something in a machine again - I usually have 5 to 10 things outside my machines alot of times what I need is stacked behind something else so I have to pick up several things at the machine to get to what I want - I do this when I have extra milk or wool sell them in my trade and then pick up what I need from machine.
I find this especially helpful for popcorn and bread since you need so many to fill a crate. This way I am able to help my neighbors fill their bread and popcorn crates without taking up so much space in my barn.

This goods piled up technique turns out very usefull for me. In principle, you can consider it as the dedicated little barn (51 items max) for each machine.To make it works efficiently, choose the goods to make wisely. Those you can easily buy in the DD like bacon & eggs/eggs/..., obviously you wouldn't go to make it. In case of need, buy them (make sure you have enough coins though :)) Also try to maintain the same order when making the goods. This helps when you are emptying the queue of your machine. So I use my barn for storing BEM/SEM/LEM and temporary goods for boat orders or helping friends.
So as described by other players, your barn must be at maximum to be able to use this technique, but the down side is there are times you do need space in the barn for the boat orders/trading/buying items from friends or in the DD,..... To free up barn space, I use the following way:
- Figure out which items are needed by your friends for their current boat orders and help them and so also help yourself :) Ofcourse, You help your friends with their boat order all the time. But in this context, your barn space issue is also solved. In case you do not have the items your friends need in the barn, you can fill this free-up space with the items your friends need for their boat orders and help them.
- Feed the animals with milk/bacon. This is more efficient to sell them since you earn the XP and sometimes even some pleasant suprise as BEM/SEM/LEM.
- Use saws/axes to chop down the bushes/trees. So do not clean your land immedately, but only when required. You could reserve an area for the dead trees, so if needed no need to search for them in your farm. Just go there and chop them down and then you have the desired space again in your barn.
- Get rid of dynamite/TNT in a good way by using them in the mine to get ores.
- And offcourse selling the goods you don't need.
Filling your barn to the maximum with the following way:
- By getting the animal feeds. Fastest way since it takes 3x per animal feed.
- By goods which are easy to get like milk/bacon/eggs
- The goods which will be required for the next boat or truck orders.

Sure,there are times you will have to sell the goods for freeing up space or when emptying the piled up goods with the ones you do not need. Just put them on sale. but most of the time, you are prepared for the boat/truck orders and helping your friends out.
Let's get this out of the way 1st: I'm a 55 yr. old grandmother of 2yr. old triplet girls. I'm a relatively smart, educated woman, but I am so behind the curve on "gaming" and technical jargon.
i am so sorry if I am posting these concerns in the wrong area. If I am, or there is a better place to ask the questions, please help an old woman out! LOL.
1) I've seen these, DD, BEM, LEM, SEM, and other acronyms mentioned in posts, for what do they stand?
2) When a player, such as myself, goes to another farm and sees the "!," which I understand indicates "help" is needed, if I help them, are the resources used to help their farm deducted from my farm's resources?
3) I feel like I'm "spinning my wheels" because I don't seem to be gaining materials, levels, coins, and diamonds quickly. I have lost diamonds several times; I think because I accidentally touch the "lightening" button. I feel like I'm "buying" what's available in the "market," but I'm placing, feeding, harvesting, creating, loading the truck, collecting the coin, and then starting all over....getting no where quickly. I've been playing for about 3 weeks, but I'm only at Level 22, with 10,700 coins, (the only reason it's this high is because of the "Doubling Event"), 3 diamonds, and 1 voucher. I REFUSE to "buy" coins/diamonds, etc. with real US $ currency. I watch all the "movies" (ads) to collect diamonds. I can't increase my silo past 125, or my barn past 100 because I'm missing "parts," so I have to sell items to make room. Any suggestions? I couldn't find a "players manual" to find these answers.
I honestly appreciate any help that anyone might lend.

Popcorns and Bread are quick seller, animal feed will be used constantly. Bacon, wool and milk can be sell pretty quick too.
Why eggs then? I use eggs to control those visitors who keep asking for items which you have most of or none of. By collecting eggs every 20 minutes, visitors always aks for eggs when it come to barn item. Once I gather up to 97 eggs and they ask for 67 :). Plus, the more you collect from animals, the more bonus you get (just like wheating, bonus drop after a certain amount of animal product ; the number depends on your level).

3) 3 weeks and level 22 is not too bad, it can be slow in beginning. To get some money you might try to buy items cheaper than max price (from DD) and selling them max price. To upgrade barn and silo in beginning might be good to upgrade one at a time, first barn, then silo and so on. Also do not keep too much animal feed, eggs, other useless junk in barn :).
I had to stack when I did my trucker achievements and i'll admit, it is a dance.
collect an egg, fill the barn, make a pie, free up barn slots,
harvest the wheat and hope for that elusive Bolt, get a saw instead, chop a tree,
collect some eggs, fill the barn again,
make some bread, forget that bread doesn't take a barn item and try to collect more eggs,
make buttered popcorn, get that last egg,
realize your sheep are shivering, try to collect some feed, get barn is full notice, tell your kid who is worried about the shivering sheep that mommy is moving as fast as she can, get frustrated and make some bacon and eggs freeing up space to collect sheep food and feed sheep, point out to crying kid that the sheep are fine now, and wonder why your kid is more concerned with shivering virtual sheep than her Trig homework. What you thought this was a little kid?

I get around this one by preparing enough animal feed for the next harvest. As one animal product will take one animal feed in the barn, in the end you'll have the same free space after collect them all. I agree about the little dance around machine and animal, I find it funny and happy when I can manage it well.Quote:
