I've heard from some people that Hay Day often looks at the items that we have most of to decide what to give us as drops when we wheat or corn, so I was thinking why don't we for example, sell things we have a lot of and hoard barn parts and do 2 or 3 barn upgrades at a time so that our amount of barn parts doesn't drop and we keep getting them frequently from wheating/corning?
Or is this not how it works?

The computing power needed to scan your device (and the untold thousands playing at the same time and accessing that same server) to see what you have in your barn to then calculate the drop rate would be absurd... and if that were the case skew it by having someone "hold" some items would fix the folklore that you never get some items or only get those you have a lot of.
My farm has always been a bolt farm. If I have 20 bolts, 0 planks and 0 tapes and happened to find 50 planks in the DD, my farm won't magically drop more planks. It will continue to rain bolts.
Just like the DD, whatever u need for the boat seem to not be there when u need it. False. U have 4 hrs to scour the DD for the items. It will be there. It's all psychological.
It's true each farm has a more common Expansion item in each trinity, but that's it. It's based on some property determined when you create the farm, and it will stay that way no matter how many other items you have. you will always get more of those in particular.
What you're describing is sometimes referred to as "confirmation bias". People don't want more tape, so when they get it, they notice that instance more, and place more mental emphasis on it, and less emphasis on the other times they DIDN'T get tape. The same thinking makes people speculate that the paper "withholds" certain ads, or that the boats only ask for what you don't have.
Another "-1" for the longstanding myth that you get more of what you have. It makes as much sense as saying "We're experiencing a torrential downpour because of this puddle on the ground".
I think long ago somebody swapped around cause and effect. I don't get lots of planks because I have lots of planks. Exactly the opposite: I have lots of planks because I get lots of planks.
Like others said I feel it's just a myth.
I am a believer that each farm has individual programmed drop rates. As a way to stimulate Daily Dirt activity.
I personally find more Planks and Nails out of the barn and silo tools. Also more Axe than Saw.
Probably have a town and land imbalance too but don't really care for them and often just sell them for max coins.
They don't have to scan our devices because they know what's in our barn from their servers. The computing power is far from absurd, it's minimal. Apps scan our devices for location to show us the nearest stores, apps scan our preferences on their servers to present us with targeted ads and preference-based real-time marketing promotions all the time. It's simple to do this kind of stuff in real time.Quote:

Okay thanks for the information guys, it seems I've been misguided by numerous comments on the forums about whether this myth is true or not. I guess I've always gotten lots of tape, nails, mallets, saws, axes and panels but I notice them more when I get them because it's annoying that I don't get the others.
