OP, if you're unable to help a boat crate, you may decline to buy some special RSS items offered. But you'd be in the minority.

If players do as you advise, they're setting themselves up for routine frustration. If their intention is to reward their helpers, then their plans are doomed to be thwarted again and again. The lobsters, planks, feathers, or cream they set out will most likely go to someone who didn't fill their crate.

Also, if players advertise before they signal for help, there's a lag sometimes where the ad appears in the DD without the "!" On phones, it's very possible for a shopper to visit a farm through the DD sincerely unaware that the farm needs help. You only see that the farm needs help after you've shopped/left the RSS and view the wider farm.

It's a nice sentiment, really. I'd love to reward people for helping me fill a difficult crate. If there was a way to do that reliably, I would. But having premium goods available in the shop doesn't mean that the person who fills the crate will get them.

The closest you could do is to make an arrangement with someone in your neighborhood, where if they fill a crate for you, you can repay them with a trade request.

Im afraid I'm the person who gets their boat filled via Tofu dogs in the DD. Yep.....come give me your goodies and have a fabulous and one of a kind Tofu dog XD I have been know to use red hats and chilli popcorn however, one thing thats guaranteed.....my RSS will be full of naff stuff. Sorry it's not personal...it's just likelyI'm a wicked person. It's not all bad though.....I don't fill dairy or sugar boats so never ask for for it and I help other farmers boats frequently. I also buy shed loads of tofu dogs to advertise in the DD thus helping to remove the tofu dogs from the paper all for your benefit ....... :smirk: Hmmmmmmm

Thank you and others like you because I am a frequent buyer of tofu dogs, chilli popcorn and red cloche hats as I can't be bothered making them :)

That's one of the things I love in hay day, that there are so much different ways to play.

When I ask for help, I usually don't advertise in the DD but always put good items for my friends or followers who would help me. And I have the good surprise to see that even difficult crates are filled by different person and that my RSS is empty ;)

On the contrary, if I need help urgently because my boat is about to leave, I put simple items and advertise. If the crates are difficult to fill, I usually put some good items among the simple ones but the one who buy them is rarely the one who filled my difficult crate :unsure:

But it does happen that I decide to fill a crate I would not have usually filled, because the person was selling fish or cheese or some good item I needed. Not long ago, I was able to buy goat cheese and fish from a RSS and of course, I filled the crates of the boat. One of the crate was 3 jams, I would not have filled it overwise (my barn is little and I keep 3 products of each) but I felt grateful and filled it without thinking twice.

In the DD, I never refrained to fill a crate just because the person was selling chilly pop-corn! If I don't help, that's because I need the products myself, don't have a lot of them or simply don't have enough to fill the crate. But seeing premium items can encourage me to give away products I was not willing to give because I needed them or didn't have a lot of them.

Here's how I play. I sell tofu dogs, red hats, and spicy popcorns with the intent of attracting players outside my neighborhood to help my boats. When my crates are filled, I go to the Last Helpers Tab to see if I may reciprocate and help their boats. If I have the goods in my barn and silo, I don't hesitate to fill all their crates. If I still see an exclamation mark, then I will zoom out and find the plants to be revived.
