So many good advice have already been given, I can't really add something new but I just wanted to say that selling in your RSS is also a way to help people.
When my barn is full (and it happens all the time!), I sell every products from which I have more than 3 (that is to say, I only keep 3 of each product). Except dairy and sugar products that I stock in the slots of différents machines (especially ice and cake maker). Then I serve every visitor of my town and when I come back, I have 50 places in my barn! Of course I can't help a lot of boats with only 3 of each products but selling cakes, jams, juice, soups and so on help people in an another way! I have some followers who often come to my farm, buy what they need and help my trees and bushes and even my boat. And if you sell with an add, you're sure to make someone happy! It does happen that your boat is asking for a crate of 3 cakes and you have only 2. What a surprise to find this one cake in the DD or find that one of your friend is selling this cake in his RSS without add!
