I found out (after playing six months) that if you tap Toms balloon when he lets it fly, you get a prize : coins,star point or a tool... :-)
If you tap the black raven when it flies in the beginning it complains and looses its feathers.
If you repeatedly tap a bird house all the birds come to the birdhouse.
Do YOU have any funny , quirky tips, I would love to hear about them... :-)

Yesterday, I went to my town and flicked out to the water looking for a chest. Must have been 50+ sets of eyes looking at me. I think hitting the water makes them do that.
These have been reported as glitches. If I hit the hood search tab and select the first hood without searching, I get that hood's stat page. If I arrow back and repeat several times, my nh stats pops up even though I selected another nh.
Then there is the mystery glowing bubble. Find a farm that does not have their fishing area open and tap the submerged boat. You get a bright glowing orb which looks like something should be there but isn't.
After the birds (and it's even better during Halloween) have landed on the bird house, move it and they sort of flap together before flying away.
The multiple tapping of animal pens and them moving crazily is always entertaining.

Every week when the Derby pauses (Monday/Tuesday), the Provence Donkey steals the Derby cup from the Bay Horse while this one is sleeping in his stable and runs away with it. XD
Click on the NH Derby during the derby pause. You'll see the Bay Horse sleeping but if you keep watching, you'll see the provence donkey steal the cup!

By the way, tapping the Raven during its flight in the beginning doesn't do what someone said in this thread. First time, I tried swiping to the right, but nothing. And I tapped onto it another time, and no shedding of feathers. 😩
I have my horses and their pens inside a stone walled enclosure. After feeding/waking, they wander outside the wall. I found a way to stop this & keep them inside.
When I use the whistle to wake them, I immediately go to another pen & move it to the end of the enclosure & use the whistle again. As they all start to run for it, I grab the pen and "throw" it back towards the spot it usually sits in, causing the horses to all switch direction to follow it. Once the horses stop, I put the pen back in place. Sometimes I actually get it back in place in that first throw, but regardless, its the horses changing direction in mid-run that does it.
They never wander out again until feeding time.
You all reminded me of a helpful hint when I got the crashing issue. I could get the game to sort of work when no event was going on but not when one started. It crashed during or froze shortly after the newspaper animation. I found I could swipe the papers off as they flew forward and it stopped the animation as well as some times letting me play on some events in the MONTHS it took HD to fix it on old iOS devices.
