Advice needed. How should a neighborhood use the trading?

I know that I could ask for 10 crops each time and optimize my neighbors' progress towards the new achievements. I know this, but I don't do this because:

1/ I don't attempt to do anything at maximum efficiency when it comes to earning game achievements.

2/ I think one of my dear neighbors is still playing Hay Day mostly in order to complete her achievements. I cheer every time SC introduces new achievements because that means my neighbor will have to linger even more to attain them. XD

3/ If I'm going to play this feature, then I'm going to squeeze some utility out of it beyond the "thrill" of getting a new bird stand. :smirk:

Just now I requested 5 wool, because, right now, I have none zero zilch. My barn is full, so I can't buy any. But if I should need some in a couple of hours to serve a townie or make a sweater, then there'll probably be 5 wool waiting on the patio by the next time I check into the game.

You can only request items every eight hours. Why would one not ask for five of an item? I always ask for five, and if others in the NH don't fill it within eight hours, ask for something else. They have no obligation to fill, but allows them to give if they have a full barn and helps me with something I am low on. I have no expectation it will be filled, but am happy if someone can.
