Advice needed. How should a neighborhood use the trading?

what would you like to see in the overhaul?

in our hood we theme to ask for crops, or for higher end items that the boat asks for. We have not had anyone begging for diamond rings or other high-end goods. I have seen requests for duck feathers and lobsters, which I could not fill.

Well, let me ask u this...if someone requests 5 items, can 5 people donate one each or does one person have to donate all 5?

I have seen people resent boat requests in DD in this forum. Numerous times.
I was comenting on people choosing to resent the way other people play, whether that be random strangers or hoodmates.
I would not want to be in a hood that told me how to play. To each their own. Some people like to be told how to play, others do not.

If 5 people can donate one each, what's the problem? I don't understand how a large hood of 20+ can possibly ignore a request that can easily be completed with the help of the NH. 5 blankets requested could easily mean 1 from me only. Doable. Why are people getting frustrated and ignoring requests?

Well said. I agree 100%. The players will eventually hit their Waterloo as far as donation requests are concerned and then adjust. Everything is just new right now.

It's an ok feature. Use it or don't use it. We give in our nh whenever anyone needs anything so it's not really something that we as a nh needed. However the good news is I have gone from "run of the mill" to "aspiring trader". Or is that good news? I'm not sure. Why do we even need an announcement in chat on what we have done. It's not something I need to see. I sure don't check the stats to see what my neighborhood has been up to. But I am sure some are getting scolded somewhere on how they haven't donated enough. Great going ♥♥♥♥♥♥cell in the "no name, no shame" catatgory once again.

In the Nh I belong to you are more likely to be considered problematic if the other way, requesting too little so as its preventing others from donating their max.

What would I change?

Last night somebody requested a few crops. I gave only one, because the game decided I had reached my quota and locked me out. Nobody else online to give, so what should have been filled in seconds sat around for a long time. Dumb. I don't have a problem with forcing a break between making requests. But forcing a break between contributions?

This is currently a "gifting" mechanism, as no coins exchange hands. I would prefer that this not be a gifting mechanism. I would gladly pay max coins for the things I request. I.e. make it trading, not gifting.

BTW, I was in Dallas a few weeks back, and totally shocked to look up and see your icon on the TV during the weather report. And your name, too.

Yes, I have noticed that my reactions pretty much follow what I do for boats: sugar, dairy: no. Lobster, feathers, or anything using them: no. Otherwise it's based on what I have in stock.

I'm still requesting crops, though. Sometimes tea leaves, sometimes wheat.
