As far as I have read about it, only the GC app will be removed. The functionality will still be there though, but developers will have to provide a user interface for it? If you don't or can't update, the app will still be there though.
I have the same question. I don't really use GC that much for Hay Day, but for other games, my current GC connections are way more necessary.
edited to add:
I just googled this topic and browsed a few articles. It's weird. I read stuff about inviting people to play games through Messages. About how the games, themselves, will manage storing player's game data.
But nothing about whether users will still be able to make relatively anonymous gaming connections/"friends" under iOS 10.
This is kinda sad. :( Going through early mourning for Game Center. Bye, GC. You were a good app.
I have read loads about it too, but I'm still confused.
Most of it is about 'tracking your friends progress in various games'. Frankly, I'm not that bothered what people's progress is on this game let alone anything else they choose to play! (Obviously love reading about achievements etc on the forum, but I'm not looking daily to see who has gone up a level or whatever).
I get the impression that SC will need to 'do something' to make this continue to work for us, when it was brought u in the AMA Nick said he didn't know anything about it. Hopefully he's asked someone to look into it. I think the other thread about this that Mini started is in Bugs & Problems. If not, we probably need to start one there next week now that the update is largely sorted out.
This is news to me. :(
I am curious to see how this plays out. I'll see what I can find out on my end.
Here's a link to the thread I started after the question came up in the AMA. Still no word from SC about how this will affect us farmers.

Obvious...
1. They were busy at AMA ending the update
2. Then they were busy starting up the birthday-event - cough -
3. Now it is Midsummer and they are busy celebrating
Let's go to your celebration :) ( by the way i have got Android so don't nothing about Apple, but this answer was very easy)
Yeah, same. A lot of the discussion I saw was about inviting people to play games through Messages. Also have no interest in inflicting my gaming obsessions on others in this way. :D
That would be cool. Thanks, ILoveHayDay!
It seems what exactly is going to happen to GC is still unclear. According to this TechCrunch article about the changes to Game Center --
https://techcrunch.com/2016/06/14/ap...inue/?ncid=rss
And the promising news, from the same article, is:Quote:
"Many things could change from beta to public release,[...]"
So something like GC will survive in some incarnation... :confused:Quote:
"Apple confirms that Game Center will continue as a service, but it will no longer be available as a standalone application on their devices."
If anyone's interested, Apple's pre-release notes on iOS 10:
https://developer.apple.com/library/prerelease/content/releasenotes/General/WhatsNewIniOS/Articles/iOS10.html
p.s. Enjoy the forum celebration, VFrood! :)
Yes LTMP, they have said all along it will still exist, just not as a stand alone App. It's in no danger of disappearing as such, because it's part of their latest release items BUT what's not clear is how it affects HD. I am presuming it will still enable backups, I'm more concerned how it will affect our friends lists.
Anyway, as I said earlier, hopefully now the AMA, update, and soon the Birthday Celebrations/National Holiday are over, Nick will look into it if we remind him, as it sounds like SC will need to do 'something' to ensure the transition goes smoothly.
Yes, I hear you, SmallChange. Thanks! I share your concerns about hoping the GC friends feature survives.
