chocolate fountain it is!!!
I'm up to 50 trucks!
1. a hammer
2. 2 stone bricks
3. 3 gold vouchers
4. 4 bolts (Hey thanks, I needed those for a barn upgrade!)
While I appear to be in the minority here,
I think SC has stooped to a new low with this event!
I don't need a stupid fountain on my farm...
I DO need diamonds!
To entice us with one prize
and then switch the prize halfway thru the event
just isn't right!
They claim to be stepping up their dedication to "fair play"
...and then pull a stunt like this?
Could be they need to take a good long look in the mirror!!!!!
I'm happy for all of the farmers who wanted the fountain...
I just think SC should have (and could have)
handled this situation a LOT better than it chose to.
I don't know that you are the minority DairyAir. I think A LOT of players are agreeing with you that things in this game could and should be handled much better. Perhaps when the profit margin finally drops, SuperCell will finally of realized that. On the bright side... up and coming gaming companies can learn from their mistakes.
As far as the birthday celebrating goes... Supercell on their own party and have nobody to blame but themselves for the negative feedback. I would like to remind whoever from the company reads posts here... For all past birthdays, you gifted your players with diamonds and thanked them for an aMOOzing year. Perhaps Alfred should get to stepping?
Thanks SC for the amendment!
This is a real nice birthday gift!
It was actually quite calm here. The failed drag and drop event was way worse. Diamonds to celebrate their bday was never a part of their plan. Someone, somewhere within SC failed to catch the error before their holiday vacay. They goofed up but fixed it pretty quickly this time around. The failed drag and drop catastrophe happened in the winter when they were all away from the office for a much longer period of time...category 5 manure storm for the books, that one :smirk:XD
But yea, choco fountain...animated hopefully.
There was a time not that long ago when the birthday event was making.... Birthday cakes.
But that's too hard in their words. Reading between the lines, we are too lazy to try and make that work again and maximize our profits with events that mean y'all spend diamonds speeding up boats, resetting truck boards, speeding up fishing spots...
The chocolate fountain or whatever can join last year's hideous UFO cake in permanent storage.
I've sent 4 trucks so far, just to be able to see the event board and who is up to what. The fountain will be staying in storage should we win it... that's me done for trucks. Sorry, decor allergy.
Events have simply become weekly tasks rotating between a short list of options. The old surprise of getting an event has long gone. They are merely planned weekly boosters to induce players to part with diamonds. They used to be special and a surprise. They've now turned into hum drum more of the same... But this week's prize will be able to be bought next year for a mere 90 diamonds no doubt.
For all past birthdays, diamonds have very much been in the plan. Every player recieved a package with a ty note from Alfred. it's not too late for them to carry on the tradition... Just sayin'
The problem is all events are regular and not special at all anymore. There really is no surprise element left to them or any other part of the game. Just same ol same ol day after day, week after week.
Happy for those who wanted to see the fountain listed as the prize, bummed for those who wanted the diamonds. I'm with the crowd who no longer gives a truck. I did what I had to for a task and that's about as much as I care to participate. For me there is no incentive. My items will be in crates and not used on less than satisfying efforts.
The events are what they are...frankly, I was already getting tired of them after its 4th repeated cycle. But a lot of players seem to enjoy them so...
I do trucks on a regular basis. Probably average 100 trucks a day so again, the event is nothing out of the norm for me. Level prizes are underwhelming and can easily be picked up, on an average DD run.
Wanna see how an event is really done? U have a game called DV, I noticed. A summer event should be coming out next Thursday for them. Check it out and be amazed :D
I share a GC account with my kiddo. I've never actually played that. It is her game. All I play is Hay Day and occasionally a puzzle game. I've never been a big gamer and the last time I was as dedicated to one as I have been to my farm, was Tetris on an original Nintendo. Lol
Maybe it's time to dig that thing out and see if it still works. :)
Doing trucks has always been a part of my gameplay. I was level 20+ when I found this place and was told to ignore them completely. Make and sell stuff, ignore trucks and boats was the common advice given. But by then, doing trucks and boats was already a part of my normal everyday HD routine. Haven't stopped since. I enjoy doing them, it's nonstop action and super challenging :)
Tetris, heh? Sounds like a challenge...name ur time, place and console! :p
But yea, I highly recommend u check out DV. Their events are the stuff of legends and highly praised by their players, even months after its over. Every year...it's different, every year...another wow. :)
I'm happy it's finally been updated to the chocolate fountain.
Still hoping to get the other birthday deco's in some way.
Finished 100 trucks, not impressed:
1. a gold ticket
2. 2 purple tickets
3. 3 red bricks
4. 4 purple tickets
5. 5 gold tickets
This thread is taking a good turn toward a general discussion of events now that the burning issue of the prize has been "fixed".
I seldom participate in the events any more. If it is a global (5 diamond) event, I do the minimum in order to qualify for the global prize. If it is a double coin/XP/voucher event, I will do the double XP event. At this point, there is nothing in the game that inspires me to amass more coins and vouchers, so I skip those events entirely. This has been my farming practice for over 6 months now.
I am happy piddling along on my farm, but there is zero anticipation for events at Dibley Fields. As Haystacker said, the only difference between the regular weekly events and "special" events is the deco prize--which some farmers don't even consider a prize. I've done my 100 trucks because I do want the chocolate fountain. I'm looking forward with a mixture of anticipation and horror to what an "unconventional" way of getting the other decor will be.
The pinata is not for sale.... it's going unconventional. So not by shop.....
Thought I was just going to be getting things like town and land expansion tools, but last night I got 4x gold vouchers! Whoo! Glad I played this event. :D
The chocolate fountain showing up makes it more exciting too.
I'm guessing either WOF or by way of a present on the lake accompanied by fireworks
I thought we were getting Diamonds, now we are getting a Fountain?
I wanted the Diamonds actually; even if that is the 'standard' event prize. It was there right in front of me now taken away.
1 yellow paint bucket
2 gold vouchers
3 purple vouchers
4 gold vouchers
5 gold vouchers
not too bad a haul for a lvl 51 farmer :)
This was 3 days ago.... not once a reaction from SC.
I replied to it in this thread: http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...57#post7732757
Closed, and please Vfrood stop bumping threads for no reason.
Cheers,
