How to Solve the "Mass Troop Spam"

The Problem:

A particular troop will be mass spammed.

Evidence of this type of attack:
Mass Dragons
Mass Witches
Mass Bowler (with a few healers)
Mass Miner
Mass Valk

This is considered to be undesirable by the War community and Supercell.

The Solution:

Limit the number of a single troop type that can be brought to bare via a limit on housing space.

How it works:
Supercell codes in a limit via housing space on the number a single type of troop that can be added IE:
80 Housing Space limit would mean 4 Dragons, 10 Valks, 80 Barberians, 13 Bowlers, 16 Hogs/Giants/Balloons/Miners
20 Wizards or 6 witches.

(Note I am not saying 80 housing space is ideal it's just an example before you kick off)

The Benefits:

• This prevents mass attacks that the war community and Supercell dislike.
• Supercell no longer needs to continue the Buff-Nerf cycle as over powered troops cannot used en-mass.
• Supercell can buff troops such as the Witch which has seen a decline in use due to nerfs without the worry of over-powering them.

I hope this idea for a solution is viable, and solves the issue for everyone concerned.

I'm aware that mass dragon is a strat, but is it REALLY that bad of an issue?

I don't use any of these mass troops spams you speak of. I didn't even know they were a problem. Aside from mass dragon attacks in war, I haven't seen any in a long time.

Someone did revenge attack me with mass witches long ago, but I had it coming. They completely wrecked my base for 3 stars easily. The pile of skeletons really was a treat to watch run over my base.

What you suggest puts a limitations on the way people can play the game. I can't get behind that idea.

Th10 and above its mass bowler, TH9 and below its mass valks, less diversity and more of just 2 things, and they get 3 stars by simply creating a funnel into the core where they have access to the rest of the base essentially, and they can overrun everything because there are so much of it, but many are complaining more now on the bowlers than the valks. Miners are even worse. Just a cc golem, 2 wizards, and 46 miners. Use the golem+wiz+heroes to kill the cc, and then swipe your foot across the screen with the miners and bam, 3 stars. The queen isn't an issue because she lures miners in, infernos don't do much because dropping a heal while they are underneath just lets them fight a little longer, they move too fast, and they can avoid most traps. Witches died, I don't know what OP was getting with that, there haven't been mass witch in a while now.

I am a th 10 and have yet to upgrade the barracks for miners. If they are getting 3 stars on th 10s and above with mass miners sign me up! Lol.

Honestly, I didn't think the miner was that valuable of a 3 star troop just by reading the description. It sounds like they need to nerf the healing of an underground miner. Problem solved.

Don't forget the rage, they sometimes don't even need a heal, rage and everything dies (building wise) players are trying to place skeleton traps around infernos since miners aren't splash/AOE troops to make them easier to take out, picture it with the GW and its health buff.

That is how I use my skeleton traps anyway.

I have yet to see a miner in action. Probably why I didn't know this was going on. I haven't watched any youtube videos of attacks since the update either.

This can be cured the same way they did with mass hogs. GBs are theoretically placed underground. At least, I like to think of them the same as I do a land mine. That is exactly where the miners roam free. I feel they should trigger all bomb traps, but go underneath the spring traps. And, since those bombs are going off right in those miners ugly mugs, I feel they should do x1.5 damage. Same as with the hogs.

I'm not with putting limitations. But lets take the example of the newly added mini dragon which does better when alone. This could be a solution. Make troops do better when in small amounts at the same times & do a standard damage when more than that. People will start finding combos & different strategies will come up from that!

I question this statement and whether this is any "problem" to be solved. First off, most clans war. The concept that there is a small, select community within the game is ridiculous as is the notion that any one player can come on the forums and speak for all clans who go to war. And although Supercell adjusts the game to keep it competitive, I don't really believe that the number of troops being deployed factors into it. In my opinion, it's always the losing clan who questions the tactics of the winning clan. It usually boils down to "Hey, that clan cleaned our clocks! Not fair! It's so OP!" but when someone asks them, "Why don't you try the same thing?" the excuses vary from "we think it's too expensive to actually win the war" to "we like to purposely limit ourselves because we think that's fun and we want to force other clans to have the same kind of 'fun'."

• It's not ridiculous to use a term that people use to identify themselves with.
• If you don't believe that Supercell adjust the game based on the use of mass troops then you clearly don't read the forums enough or the patch notes. (Hint: Witches being nerf multipul times because of them being used en-mass). This brings to mind a question of how you acquired your "Specialist" title. No offense indented.

It's not really about what you or I want it's about what Supercell wants as it's their game. Although keeping the majority of the players happy is a good idea. I never said I agreed with my solution however I find it preferably to the bait and switch of buff and nerf that Supercell currently does. If for example a player spends £XX on gemming their new Valkyrie troop so they can use it and then it's nerf so it's no longer usable as the witch was this leads to players being resentful because they feel they've been duped into spending money on something that has then been taken away from them.

I think it is an interesting idea but I'd like more carrot than stick to solve the problem. If the AI was better and different troops worked together better spamming wouldn't be needed to 3 star a base.

All people who war identify themselves as part of the war community. I didn't accuse you of inventing the term. I accused you of attributing special properties to it, elevating it to mean something significant so we must pay attention, and speaking for it. You and I are both part of the war community much in the same way we are both part of the Clash of Clans community. And since I do not believe that lots of a particular troop is undesirable, I reject your statement on my behalf. I say this of my own opinion. How pretentious would it be if I had begun my post with "The super-duper elite 3-star attack community..." To me, it's the same as claiming phony statistics "95.2% of gamers agree with my statement so don't even think of questioning my opinion" which is pretty much what you did. The fact that you had to mention my forum title in your response speaks volumes. I didn't mention my title, why did you? You may have written "no offense 'indented' (sic)" but your intention is pretty clear. I think you may be the first to accuse me of not reading the forums enough.

I will repeat my earlier statement that Supercell will change the game when it becomes too easy. If simply holding down your finger to deploy all of one troop results in 3-starring a maxed base, Supercell is probably going to make some kind of a change, which is what happened with witches. Changes don't always include a troop nerf but may often include tweaking defenses or adding new content or a new twist on old content to make it more difficult to 3-star. I do not envision them preventing players from using barch, gibarch, loonion, dragon attacks, milking or any other such attack that uses a sizable quantity of a particular troop.

How is this even a problem? What is wrong with mass spamming? Why is it undesirable? Elaborate.

This wouldn't really work.

Mass drags aren't good at Th9+, and TH7 really has no other option than hogs (also mass)

Same at TH8

Keep th7 titans!! Keep th7 titans!! Dont nerf mass drags!! I dont care about the other troops. But also dont nerf barch or loons.

The only reasonable thing I can really come up with is that your army cant be all of just one type of troop. You could still use mass drags, but youll have to bring along some minions or something(which most people already do)

While Miners are underneath, they can be healed, and with rage on infernos they aren't an issue, therefore heals are also viable while in reach of infernos, because they can heal what they lost underneath... And I even mentioned that witches died, did you read my post thoroughly, or skimmed it?

So that means If we want to bring in 5 Dragons or 6 for a DragLoon attack we can't? Sorry, but I think this will ruin the game. GoWiz/Kiwi is also a spam attack, but you need to drop the wizards carefully. Same as Mass Dragon. You need to use a few dragons or your king for funneling and then drop them all at onfe. Mass attacks aren't as easy as you think.

if they can heal what they lost underneath supercell need do this:
miner need a little nerf in hp and a minimum distance to dig like 3 tiles(they dig all the time when they destroy their target)

I feel that the attackers should be able to use whatever army composition they want. However, mass troops are definitely a problem. I do not suggest we prevent them from training certain types of troops, but I do suggest we make a counter defense to stop these attacks. For example, my idea of the mine (http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...-New-trap-Mine) would stop mass miner attacks. Just like giant bombs stop mass hog rider attacks. We need to make new defenses to prevent these attacks instead.

Mass Drag is the only good strat in Th 7.

Agreed, the only other fairly reasonable attack is mass hogs, which takes way too long to train with one barrack.

Please dont force Looney to retire, first it was dianna, now it probably will be looney if this happens.
