But that aside, I still believe SuperCell should have been working on their own system all along. The vastly increased popularity in GameCenter to me is clear proof it is a far better alternative than Facebook.

Android users also would have benefited more from such a system, may well have got more Android players too who just refuse to play games via Facebook only.

I agree that we all need to let Apple know how we feel, if they get hundreds of complaints via their feedback and social media at least they will be aware that there are people who use GC.

While this makes it clearer what is going on, I'd much rather see the good features from IOS be included rather than dropping it for all .

Thank you, Glinda & LynnK, for the business/macroeconomics perspective. That world is relatively foreign territory for me. I expect there's a reason Nick never seems to tell us the "why" behind SuperCell decisions. It's the spinning that has me dizzy (and possibly the bronchitis meds.)

Guys guys guys... There are no hidden agendas. No need to stir up the community by creating unnecessary rumors and nonsense.

Creating an in-game friends system needs some serious thinking. It's not done in a whim, and would anyway come with limitations.

We have been talking about the current situation within the team, but there's nothing to announce yet.

Sorry, Nick. I, for one, am trying to gather facts, not rumors and nonsense. That is why I've tried to provide links to substantiate my comments, and clearly state when I do NOT have any facts to support my opinion. I am VERY, VERY glad to hear that an in game friends update is not completely out of the question.

And I am feeling better, so should be out of your hair soon. A side benefit? One more post & I think I get to be a Kitty.

Stirring what rumors and nonsense? These folks are simply having a discussion on a public forum. That's allowed isn't it? Calling it nonsense is well...u know...

Let's not pick this thread up where the closed thread was left off. It was closed for a reason.

Remember this forum also has an ideas and feature request subforum Personally I'd love to see an in game option where we can search and add friends accordingly. It would benefit both Apple and Android users. If such an idea gets lots of support it will not go unnoticed.

Some facts extracted from this very forum.

Add me Facebook thread, first post 21/11/13, today is 15/9/16 - that covers 1,029 days.

In that time, there have been 1,699 posts. Just 1.65 add me requests per day.

Add me GameCenter thread, first post 11/1/14, today is 15/9/16 - that covers 978 days.

In that time, there have been 9,411 posts. That is a huge 9.62 add me requests per day.

LESS people have the opportunity to use GameCenter, and yet it's interest level is clearly substantially higher.

So many players say Facebook sucks, and those stats very much backup that fact. If SuperCell thinks that is the only way...clearly they don't give a damn about players gaming experiences & privacy. I expect that to hurt their bottom line.

In fairness it's a bit like comparing apples and oranges here. While there are a lot of people who sign up to the forums to specifically post on the "Add me on GC" thread there are a lot of Facebook users out there who use actually use Facebook and post their add mes on the Hay Day Facebook page in the comments and they don't always sign up to the forums specifically to ask them to add them.

So if you want to draw any sort of conclusion from the numbers of add mes the those should be counted as well.
