War Preparation, is 23 hours necessary?

I had an idea for getting rid of Preparation Day. So with the latest update, you can no longer see the enemy's war layout before battle day. Of course this is due to the Friendly Challenge feature, but now is it really necessary to make clans wait who have already prepared war clan castles? Here's an idea to alleviate this annoyance.


What will happen is that instead of starting a war search, the clan will enter a period for choosing war participants and setting up donations. Once the participants are chosen, it will lock whoever isn't selected for war to ensure that donation levels are fair. Clans CAN exit this period, however this will cause all war cc donations to be lost. This can also help “Fix” new clan members that donate low level/incorrect troops without permission for those clans that keep a tight hold on war donations.


Once the clan has finished donations, they have two options. Either they can begin war search and immediately enter Battle Day, OR they can wait the usual 23 hour prep period if they desire. The countdown will begin once members have been chosen. These options give both clans that have members from same/close time zones AND clans that are widespread. Once the 23 hour period is up Clan War Search will immediately begin, and Battle Day will start.


What do you think guys? Not saying this is a perfect solution but I would be open to suggestions and feedback.

My answer to the title of this thread is yes, 23 hour preparation days are needed. Nothing more, nothing less

And zoelem rather than just say it's necessary, explain why. Otherwise your post doesn't add to the discussion.

I personally think the loss of scouting on prep day is a massive loss and I hope it gets reversed. I know there are a million threads on that, and opinions are mixed so lets not get into that.

However, if we really have lost scouting forever then yes this seems like a good call.

No wait, I can't resist just one more rant: bring back war scouting please!

My answer is different.

Starting a war stays just as it is. Once an opponent is selected then you enter the 23 hour preparation day. The difference is that each clan leader has an opt in button. That way once appropriate troops have been donated then the clan could signal they are ready for battle. Once both teams have opted in then the war will automatically start. This will eliminate the need to wait out the entire 23 hours should both clans be ready to start earlier.

Sorry but hate that idea, if your leader clicks start first then you are just waiting for the other clan's leader. This means you have no control over when the war starts and when it ends which could well turn out to be a really inconvenient time for your clan. Original suggestion seems far better to me.

I agree. I would like to see scouting brought back as another option as well, though sometimes players change bases and make plans useless.

Either way, I say either ditch prep day or make it necessary again.

Or you could just give different war prep options... 6, 12, or 23 hours. That way whoever starts the war decides when it starts and is matched with a clan with the same request.

It's really pointless to have 23 hour war preparation especially since the bases layout won't be revealed until battle day.
