I have seen pearls in a shell at other's farms. how do you get one? I am a level 90 farmer and I saw two on a level 72 farm. I don't see them for sale or on the wheel. Where do they come from? (Sorry about the thread title- typo)

I have read that it is a rare item caught by using Mystery Nets, the ones you pay 5 Diamonds for.Quote:

Daz is correct. It is something that can be "caught" in a mystery net. In other words, it can cost you a lot of diamonds to get one. Like the gift card catalog, it can take years (literally) to get one--totally the luck of the draw. I don't have one either and never will. No mystery nets at Dibley Fields. A while back someone had a thread about techniques that might produce the pearl sooner, but I can't find it.

Yes, Daz and MiniGardener are right. You can only catch a pearl in the fishing area by casting a mystery net, crossing your fingers and hoping.
I tried for a pearl for well over a year, casting a net whenever I could. I was about to give up, when I thought, just maybe, there is a pearl hiding out in one of the fishing spots, that comes and goes, and moves around randomly each time you enter the fishing area.
I figured the way I might increase my tiny chances of catching one would be to put a new mystery net in all 12 fishing spots, all at the same time.
I figured that if the elusive pearl was in there, somewhere, I might be able to nab it in one of the 12 nets. When they were ready, I carefully pulled up net after net - happily collecting the fish, vouchers, decos and EMS that the nets had caught.
I was deliriously happy when one of my nets pulled up the pearl!!!
The experiment worked!
I have several pearls now, that I treasure, enjoy and am very thankful for.
This doesn't work every time. I just suggest you have the mindset of having fun, enjoying whatever the mystery nets bring up for you, and enjoy the happy experience when a net holds this most precious of decos.
I make certain my internet connection is very good and stable before pulling up the nets - I don't want to lose that precious pearl! I always take a picture of the net when I get a pearl (that picture might help if I had to contact support for help if I lose the pearl). I've never lost a pearl, but I figure it doesn't hurt to collect nets and pearls very carefully and wisely.
When you collect it, the pearl will go into your decorations tab, where you can retrieve it and proudly display it on either your farm, or in town.

P.S., it must be the mystery nets (purple floats with white tips that cost 5 diamonds to make) used to catch the pearls.
The free fish nets (red floats) only catch fish.
i read in one of the posts the best chance for the pearl is in fishing spot number 6, the one with the sunken boat. my 4th net in that spot got me the pearl.
