Thanks for starting this conversation. No recent changes have been made to how the newspaper is generated, so from that perspective things should be chugging along smoothly.

However, right now there are very few ads in comparison to the number of active players. My suspicion (see: speculation) is that this is causing some unintended side effects like the screenshots and situations you've posted.

I am sharing all the info you've provided here with the Hay Day team who is digging into this. If/when they find a solution, a fix will be released ASAP.

Thanks for your patience -- hopefully once the Visitor Bonus concludes later today things get back to normal and the Daily Dirt will be filled with max priced Bacon and Eggs again ;)

If the machines are running, it simply means that goods were, at least, produced and waiting to be claimed.

I don't think it's a conspiracy, but I do think that this is an isue that arises each time there's a new update. It could be that they have some old, buggy code that they use.

However, there wouldn't be a need for conspiracy if SuperCell were to acknowledge that there's an issue, given the array of images produce that indicate there's a problem. Seriously, five plus figures of visitors a day? Something's wrong.

I find good adds all the time even if I do get a fair share that are already sold. Although, there are certain things that people do sell much more frequently than others. Good things sell very quick. I sell a lot of the items people seem to be having a hard time getting on a regular basis.

The game is clearly buggy with regards to what is visible on the farms and it would not surprise me if it included the farm stats or the papers as well. I have someone on my friends list that hasn't played in months. Yet, the machines are going any time I go to visit as if they were playing regularly. Although the crops never change.

These adds are being posted over and over on the DD...it's not even a question now...look at these daily visits these players have...

Okay I have one feedback for the team (which I also suggested on the sticky feedback page). I suspect that every time you guys do an event, you literally kill the daily dirt newspaper, for about 5 days. Most of the stalls are empty by the time we get there. People aren't selling their items because of the event. What I would suggest is shorten the event time. It seems like you put up an event on Friday Evening (7 pm my time, I believe that's 00:00 GMT???), and the Event goes till Tuesday. Why not just do it Friday to Sunday (as a weekend event)? not 5 days.

Also try not to have events where you get 2x coins, instead do some 2x EXP please.

I am agreeing. I can still find plenty of things- yesterday, 2 cherry popsicles, 1 buttered popcorn, and 4 white sugars- plus I still have my neighbors, and get bits of duct tape, bolts, planks, nails and deeds from them, dairy and sugars. I got 3 cream cakes from an ad in the newspaper of B&E.

There are plenty of things out there, you just don't see them. When you see B&E for max, you see nothing but that. Really. But if you step up closer- you see... wheat, possibly a panel, maybe a cheese, could be a feta pie or chocolate bar..? There are many treasures hidden deep! Think outside of the... (ad). I do the same. I advertise the useless, and at the last crate, sell the prolonged. Rehashed? Nobody rehashes BACON AND EGGS! Why bother with the phonies? I got 5 dynamite from this person whose ad was (again) B&E!!!!

(Takes a breath) Don't be so picky- wait, no. Not a suitable word. Greedy. Are neighbors- even just 10- not enough? Are they? If you don't have any, go get some. Plenty of people are willing to share with you some dairy or mining products or pies and etc. Go out and explore Hay Day in a different way. You can't go on depending on the newspaper fully. Waste less time on rehashed ads. WAY less time.

Searched in the DD today and the same person had 3 ads! I find it hard to believe the mallets they were selling hadn't been sold right away!

I appreciate that SC has finally acknowledged our complaints, but it's really frustrating that it takes so long for them to do so. The people who are playing the game (for hours at a time) know how the game works and how it "feels" so it's easy to tell when something's not right. The folks from SC act like it's all in our heads. The last time we had repeating ads and phantom gingerbread buyers, it took forever for SC to believe the many people who were posting pages of proof and realize we weren't all stupid and there really was a problem.

I don't believe the empty paper and excessively repeating ads are due to the events - there's usually 1 or 2 pages of real stuff in amongst the wasteland. Either something is preventing the empty stalls from cycling out or there's a major timing issue or something like that (imho).

We're the people out here playing the game - please start listening to what we are saying and believing us when we say something is off.

The weirdest thing happened to me today. I had some extra chocolate popcorns lying around so I sold two of them and give them the ad. Strangely, items which is so sought after like these chocolate popcorns are not immediately bought. I keep wondering whether my internet connection is slow or what, why these choco popcorns aren't bought yet??
In the end of course somebody bought them but perhaps this can give some insight on what's happening lately to the DD.

I understand that the developers are looking into the DD issue.
It was mentioned a few days ago, that maybe when the current event ended the *Bogus Adds* would probably disappear.. although there are probably fewer of them, and maybe a few less empty stalls, the adds with strange stats are still showing up

Thanks for looking into this SC....Really bizarre profile stats on these players I have seen both on these pictures and on the game myself....:p

I know there are multiple versions of the paper and if there are not enough new ads to fill all the spaces in the DD template for all versions, perhaps the program generating the paper is performing an action to ensure there is at least something in each ad space. Don't know if this is even remotely possible...perhaps someone more knowledgable about programming knows? If it is possible, instead of a filler ad I think I would rather see a lovely pic of a smiling pig with a caption that says, "Thanks for playing HayDay! Ad space is available!" One can almost hope the next event is a free ad in half the time (every 15 minutes) or some other reward for placing ads...double coins, double XP, or maybe a voucher when the advertised item is sold. That would encourage new ads for some of the more sought after items temporarily although there are probably down sides to that too.

I did put an ad in yesterday for bacon & eggs which lingered for a long time as usual before anyone bought it. But i had not put an ad in for planks or anything. Not sure what my neighbour saw in the dd.

i'm happy a SC mod came by and flagged this over to the techs, hopefully it will get fixed soon so that old ads don't fill the dd's empty slots.

SC rehashed the "unattended" farms I am sure.. :rolleyes:

This happens more often than you think. Here's one of many rehashed DD ads I've come across, nice stats too.

Still having this issue....I'm kind of getting good at recognizing the fake ads though....still very frustrating!:mad:

I've had an instance where two of the same exact ads from the same person were DIRECTLY next to each other. I should have taken a picture haha

It's been a lot trickier for me to get things in the ads recently =/

did you even look at my screenshots first and read what i wrote? this issue only came back AFTER the newspaper event.

How do you find those stats about yourself. I figured out how to get it from others, but I can't find it for myself. Sorry, if this is a stupid question, still figuring everything out.

I thought the newspaper event was great,it was the only time I was able to buy stuff.newspaper should be refreshed more often stops the game becoming too slow.

a couple! not as many as the other time but there are...or were. i havent surfed the paper for the past few hours so im not sure, maybe they removed the ads! i'll go check it out :p

After reading this, I paid more attention to "good ads." Saw an ad for 6 shovels, went to the farm and nothing. I checked the stats and the farm level was 14 with 33,941 visitors a day! with 115 followers. Yeah, a bit suspicious. Took a screenshot, but on my iphone and I do not know how to upload pics here.

Looks like the fake ad bug is back :(

I saw a re-hashed bolts ad just now, guess it is back. :(

Just saw these two ads in the same issue of the paper. Note the ad for a bolt and the ad for 2 planks. :confused:

whats going on man! its impossible during the newspaper event there were NO such ads and suddenly they're back. almost hard to believe SC had nothing to do with it.

I think it's because when there is a truck/boat event, people start hoarding their stuff and don't sell anything. And so there aren't enough ads being created often enough so older ads get re-hashed in order to fill the newspaper. I could be totally wrong, but it makes sense to me that it could be at least one of the contributing factors. I really don't think it's done on purpose by SC.

Good gosh a'mighty!!!!! Ancient ads are back in full "hahaha I gotcha" mode!!!!!

I saw this yesterday .. One farm got to advertise in the same page ... It's weird isn't it?

I think it is an issue with data refresh, managing bandwidth, and the notion that thousands of players fighting for the same items. Oh and an error in the app :)

After your trick effort with that event (Free Ad for 6 minutes) and DD changed quicker as well, you do fool and manipulate your players again with rehashing ads.

Oh well, i am not playing that much anyway.. I came back playing to see if SC team has fixed the dirty game.. Apparently not. What a shame!!

Sadly, I think if I started as a new player this week, I would already have realised the pointless nature of the newspaper. It used to be pretty good. Now it's like house hunting when every house advertised was already sold six months ago.

SC, please figure this mess out when you put events together. Consider the impact of other aspects of the game, or at the very least make an event which would not impact so hard, like reduced cooking time on stuff people really want ( dairy, sugar etc), rather than crops (see carrots for example).

This would be less likely to have a negative effect on the DD.

I have found this many times and believe that the whole paper is computer generated and has no bearing on our farms at all. Often I recognise farms i have visited before too. Intersting that your pics have actual pics of people. I don't get that on my DD.
