I have been playing Hay Day for almost three years and still play & participate in derbies on a regular basis.
Despite MANY attempts (25+) at various musical instruments I have yet to get one. It is so frustrating!!!
Is there a secret to getting an instrument? I almost feel like the algorithm SC is using to gift instruments is off in some way.

I wish I knew. I got the cello early on and have been trying for the harp almost exclusively for months and months. And months... *weeps*
I would say to just keep trying and don't give up. It took FOREVER for me to get the cello, harp, and guitar. BELIEVE ME!!! IT TOOK FOOOOOREEEEEVER! Now I am trying for the accordion, but it hasn't been offered for awhile.Quote:

Oh dear you'd all hate me. Lol. I have at least 7 violins, 3 each of harp and cello. And recently finished the full 6. So I have a guitar, accordion, and the saxophone too! However, I got none of the old gift voucher items at all until we could have them with diamonds. I also only have the green topiary horse and a golden horse shoe from Derby. I have the harp, cello and tuba but can't seem to get the guitar for anything! I try every time it's offered and get either another tree or leafy fern! :rolleyes:
a few months ago one player who had a fleet of red tractors and windmills released his/her strategy. If I remember correctly this is the strategy they employeed. step 1 enter airplane mode step 2 use diamonds to pay the final gift card cost of getting the gift. immeadiately open the box when it arrives. if it's not the item you want let the device time out, exit airplane mode restart the game and choose the small package. this resets the wheel to the next option. repeat the process. try for gift if it's not what you want let the device time out. buy small package and repeat again. this method will costs diamonds but it increases your chances for getting the prize you want.
otherwise it's the will of the RNG gods and chance of getting the prize you want are i think 1:10 which means 9 times out of ten you won't get it. also means 90 times out of 100 you won't get it either.

I have the cello, the harp and the tuba. My last attempt to get an accordeon resulted in a pile of wood :unsure: 25 gift cards for a pile of wood. Come on!
Don't give up on the instruments, Daria! I'm sure you'll get them some day! Having my fingers crossed for you :)
aww, oh no. I got the cello and the trumpet pretty quickly, but the harp took 5 months. Hang in there, keep trying :)

What do you mean the full six? Are there 6 of them? Let's see--cello, guitar, sax, harp, accordion. That's 5. What am I missing of the 6?

just be patient, if all fails, be patient until the next set of decorations are offered in the blue mailbox, then we can buy the music instruments ;-)
The violoin (normally the reward for 10 vouchers), cello (20 vouchers), harp (30 vouchers) and then the final three are - guitar, accordion, and sax all for between 25 and 35 vouchers. ��Quote:

I can add to this thread the fact that my poor luck began with the windmill I could NEVER win and now that it's available for purchase I can't win the rocking horse, the topiary horse, the guitar, the accordion and I would go on with my list but it's just depressing to start thinking about �� Better luck next time, I say with a smile ��
I got the tuba and cello very soon after they were introduced but I have no luck at all with the others. I was, however, lucky enough to get the BRT this morning after countless tries over the last 2 years.

I don't have any of the instruments yet. I will keep trying though. I remember when I got my first windmill after waiting over a year for it, it was great! Then the next two times I got the windmill as a prize, so I went from zero to three in just a few days! Maybe that is how it will be with the instruments.

I got my prodigal snail back, and bought him 25 friends!! Maybe I'll get them all out today and do something with them in my farm. It's been a while since everybody got to come out of storage :)
I wish I could give you the instruments I have, I don't care for them. I had no idea they were popular.
I want the windmill and tractor.
I just finally got the cello! Not sure why I wanted it so badly. I think it's because I have been trying for so long.
My "strategy" was to make sure I helped at least 5 players each day. Previously, I was helping intermittently or when I had a help task.
Okay, now to work on the others :)
