Engineered clans case study

Normally don't involve myself in these 'woe is me' anti engineering threads.... But ..... For God sakes... I run an 'engineered war clan'. The strategy has worked since the day we founded the clan and has changed very little , matchmaking wise. However this does not mean we aren't 'out engineered' at times.We lose ,everyone loses. To be an "engineered' player/clan however requires discipline. Clans like us do not get the advantage because we throw in a ♥♥♥♥ TH6 or 4 or whatever,you need strict upgrade protocol. It works because our long term members choose to buy into offense over defense....its an exercise in teamwork and cooperation to have 30-40 buy into the .5 theory at every level. It hurts their ability to retain resource a lot of the time but its a trade off to be strong in war. You don't think every new Th9 wants to grab xbows? Or easy for the th10 to wait a few months for infernos? Its about sacrifice for the good of the team. Whats so wrong about being able to support your place on the map?

Obviously, many clashers care enough to take the time to build defenseless bases. If they did not, we would not have threads upon threads ranting about losing wars.

Just because one clan employs a different strategy than the inside-the-box mindset most clans follow, does not mean they don't comply with fair play rules. Think of the start of the NBA Finals. I'm a die-hard Cavs fan. The Cavs and Warriors will both try out different lineups, tall, small, fast, 3-pt, etc. It's all part of the game and inside the rules of the game.

I'm not even going to reply to the kids part, you said it yourself. It's a game.

Make no mistake this is not a whining thread, simply bringing additional light to this well known exploit.
And the kids reference was in regard to people who do everything they can to get an easy match up.

Anyway this is clearly not the way the game was intended to be played and SC will close this exploit sooner than later.

Clearly? One would think SC wouldve fixed it by this point. Its been going on for years.

And resource zappers too I suppose.....

Patrick, we are ralking about war not the concequences of farming. War is the main competetive part of the game unless you still do farming competetions. So pretty much you only reason its fair is because it is hard to make an account like that. I believe it is more fun to play when you arent totally outmatched. And no this doesnt mean everyone should have an equal leveled base

I don't think most clashers have a problem with prioritizing off over def. The problem is with the def less bases. Def less bases are created with the sole purpose of exploiting MM.
This loophole will be closed soon enough.

No matter what SC does to "fix" match-making, I will be able to take advantage of it. I have the ability to not upgrade bases that are in the war "sweet spot" more than any other clan.

Well, this is a very good post by OP, good thread.I do agree with OP on a lot of points,and the argument of engineering clans how hard it is to make an engineered base, should not matter at all.Question is, how does the majority of players feel, when they are matched up with 3 Th 4's with maxed th 10 troops, that easily can star top 6 TH9's. I think most clans will feel cheated out of a fair way to win the war, and it spoils the fun for many players in war.
Does engineering to extreme levels make players leave the game, or not have fun in wars?If so, Sc might be wise to adjust their war matchmaking,if it wants to have a healthy, fair war competition.
