How about a production machine being a prize in a special event, instead of purchasing in the store? Then much later, after the event it's offered in the store for a price (for those who couldn't take part in the event). This is just an off the wall idea. No need to get TOO critical, now.
Hmmm. If they offered it much later that'd be a disadvantage for people who didn't win it in the event. I... Don't see too much in an event like this, but it would be fun to have a bigger prize than the regular 5 diamonds or the occasional decoration. No idea what, though! :)
It would be cool to have an option of prizes and one of the options include some machine a player might need. But otherwise if you didn't need the machine or you already had all the machines then some players might feel a prize consisting of a machine to be unnecessary.
So I think a range of prizes to choose from would be nice so if you didn't need or want a machine, you could choose something else.
Another idea is just offering lots of coins as a prize and the player can use those coins to purchase a machine or something else of their choosing. I know some players are mega-rich LOL and don't need coins so there again offering choices might be nice.

I am all in favor of special prizes, especially those that add motion to the farm. My favorites are those where the farm animals do something like the chicken in the birthday cake and the pig with its skeleton sign.

I really don't know how it would fit into the grand scheme of things.
Unless the machine unlocks in the lv 70 odd range it's going to create an even greater coin burden on newer players entering the game at those lower levels.
And of course, if the machine was available in the lv 70 odd range...there are countless players who won't be able to participate in the event.
