Feedback for Visitors Bonus Event

Howdy Farmers,

Your friendly Hay Day neighbors have struck gold and want to share in their newly found fortunes with you. So, for the next 5 days they'll pay DOUBLE for products.

As promised, fewer carrots this time around ;) What are your thoughts on the Visitors Pay Double event?

Please jot your thoughts and suggestions in this thread for me to share with the rest of the team.

In case you didn't know, your neighbors have names, except for She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named (the little girl whose grandma sends her to buy explosives and sharp objects from you)…

I will still tell most of them to go away because they will want to take the stuff I don't want to give them, but I like this idea and it was one I was hoping to see happen. I think it will go well. I'm going to try making big stacks of some of the more expendable stuff just to see how much they will give me for it.

Way better than the quick growing carrots! I still want my regular animals back...Please!

It's something different. I like it. I didn't know about the little girl & her dangerous purchases...but I love it!!:D Of course Grandma isn't going to tell us her name...she doesn't want Child Protective Services turning up on her doorstep!

This should go over very good and im already selling stuff! This is nice because it doesn't effect the DD so much....also, it might get people to buy some items from people that they normally would not because they can get more from the visitor....

good for players who're trying to make more money but doesnt make much difference to the high level ones who already have lots of it! maybe more xps would be nice since selling to them only gains you a pathetic 5 xps. and i still turn most away because no matter how much anyone is paying i will not give up my precious jars of blackberry jam lol

I was really hoping for a visitors-give-double-XP event, actually. In fact, I think it would be nice if the XP for visitors were higher all the time, just because 5 XP is not much compensation for the lower prices the visitors normally offer compared to the store. But as I said before, any event is better than no event!

An afterthought--how about an event where the visitors only ask for crops?

Chili Popcorn (WTH IS CHILI POPCORN, anyway?!)
Ugly circa 1982 Mr. Rogers V-Neck sweaters (available in white AND painter's tape blue!)with matching hats!
The Eternal Blackberry Muffins (they can take the ones that have been on my stand for 3 months)

But no...the visitors will beg for my cheese and sugar (along with my neighbors...get in LINE FOLKS, and its a LONG ONE!),
my sharps and shovels, and my delicious baked potatoes and Popsicles...Don't the visitors ever want to dress up in a scratchy wool sweater and eat a raspberry muffin or some Bacon and Eggs? Just Sayin'. ;)

LOL :eek: Here, here! I have the same problem. They want to take my best things. Take my bacon and eggs! And yes, ask for wool, sweaters, hats, and raspberry muffins! They can have all the carrot pies and bacon that they want too.

However, I do like this event overall. It's a good choice, Supercell! And chances are that I will be selling a lot of things to my visitors. BTW--I never knew that Red Riding Hood was such a taboo subject. Too funny! :eek:

Some tips to make the most of this event:

The visitors will ask for crops or items that fall into one of two criteria, either you have NONE of it, or it is one of the two items/crops you have the MOST of (except for expansion items).

Try to have at least ONE of every item your level will allow you to create, and you'll notice the difference! They will stop asking for anything except the items you have the most of. So just make sure you have lots of sweaters, popcorn, eggs, etc.

Lastly, they won't ask for expansion items, but they WILL ask for saws, axes, and mining tools, so try to use those up or the visitors will just keep asking for them over and over.

I love this! Just got 2.5 k from 5 of those cherry Popsicles! I love this so much!

Just sold 104 cherries for 11,648 coins! I don't need the money, but hey, couldn't possibly pass up that offer from Mary Poppins

I hope Greg will ask for about 400 wheat next time he comes by!

This event gets a thumbs up from me! It's going to help me get over that financial hump I've been struggling with to get enough coin for my next machine & smelter, free up some valuable storage space, & get me further along the road to Patronage III. Speaking from the perspective of a LVL 40 player, I would have loved an event like this when I was in the teens & 20s. Those machines would have been uncrated & producing a lot sooner than they were.

much better than the carrots but why are they asking for jam, raspberries, sugar, all the things people want/need to keep. If they ask for things people don't mind selling then it's great but if they, predictably and continuously, ask for things I don't want to get rid of then it's another big fail from me!!!

Loving this! Selling off my morning harvest of strawberries was a breeze! No more having to post multiple ads and wishing someone would just buy some just for a free slot!

I thought I read elsewhere that the little girl's name is Lucy. Unless she is the Voldemort of HayDay. Hmmm
I like it so far between this and my finally hitting TT III I raked I quite a bit. Still a ways to go to get the jewelry kiosk and the third smelter though am still debating on the jewelry one.

I like this event, as I'm saving up to buy the tractor (although if you could make the windmill available for purchase I'll buy that instead!). Also loved the double voucher boat event, would be happy to see that one again. :o

personally, i do not like the carrot and the most recent events. I would like to suggest SC to give double barn expansion materials or double silo expansion materials by growing crops, much much better than coins.:)

today im not able to find ANYTHING on the DD. seems like everyone is buying things just to stock up to sell to the visitors. even the bacon & eggs were gone. everytime during events/updates the DD will be affected in some sort of way. really annoyed!

Same here. All the shops I clicked on are empty. Can't even find products for my boat. :(

While some events are nice and some aren't. This event is pretty useless for me, since I only give wheats to the visitors, all others are sent away. Plus they keep asking for saws and axes, which I have to turn them away. Also as some people have said, instead of 2x coins, you should have done 2x exp (star points). So far all the events I've seen were 2x coins. While most of higher levels don't need as much coins, I'm sure they would prefer 2x exp.

I'm officially amazed at how a small tweak to the game changes it so much. This event has made lots of teasers appear in the newspaper. Goodies to want but not to have since when you get there, no matter how fast you are, usually the goodies are gone by the time you get there. I really feel like I'm competing with thousands of players for the same item. I'm not really complaining though, I like this event... It's just really fascinating trying to take part in it.

Agreed! If nothing else these temporary events are serving as a really great example of marketplace analytics, supply/demand, and closed economies!

To say nothing of the psychological/behavioral conditioning elements.

3/4 of the ads are not really new anyway! they have been rehashed from god-knows-when. i really hope that SC does something about it. if you see an empty shop, most likely the ad had been an old one. its happening so often these days.

I really like it, I grow alot of wheat and sometimes they come by and buy it for like 800 coins now during the event :) Better than carrots!

Yes I have had the visitors command ask for the exact same thing quite a few times. I'd be more worried if I saw all five of them standing there!

As for what I sell, mostly crops, eggs and milk if I have a a lot of them. Rarely do I sell finished products and never sell axes, saws, dynamite or raw goods like sugar or butter or cream.

So it's taking me forever to finish PatronageIII Lol

I have made lots of money selling fruit, both the stuff I have grown and buying it up whenever I see it. They pay well above max price for it. It's a little hard to find it with ad problems on the marketplace right now, but I did very well yesterday with it. I haven't done much with stuff in my barn because I'm not going to thin out my stacks of things in there for this, but buying fruit as well as low-priced stuff like indigo and pumpkins whenever seeing it has made me a good amount of coins.

Yes, fruit seems to selling for about 1.8 times the max stand price!

I sold 125 cherries for $14,000 yesterday. I should have taken a picture...

Pumpkins and Strawberries don't make much more than full price but it isn't too uncommon to find them (and Indigo) on the marketplace for default price or low price. So I've just bought them whenever I saw them below full price and then eventually the stacks will get high enough and the customers will come and take them from me :) Fruit (besides strawberries) is the breadwinner though. The pumpkins and stuff have helped fill the gap when I don't have enough fruit for them to buy :)

That's a good question, I wonder that myself and if anyone using Tom can check in. I wonder if he would be worth it since he would be slow to build stacks of stuff.

I've been trying Blackberry Muffins and Red Berry Cake today too and making some good money off that. They are still easy to find and stack up pretty quickly. I think the customers pay a higher percentage for the muffins than for the cake.

I love the idea of this event, but in reality it has not been much fun for me because now my neighbors are coming in twice as often asking for my shovels, saws and axes. That is all they ever want from my production items (although they do also ask for crops). I am not going to sell shovels, saws and axes so I am spending a lot of time just sending them on. Could you please program them to stop asking for these specific items? No one is ever going to sell them!

Also, since this event started the DD has been completely messed up. There have been waaaay more interesting sales listed - but literally nothing in any of the stalls. It is like a ghost town. I am a level 63 player, so I definitely know how to work the sales and I definitely don't think that it is just more people buying and beating me to the stalls every single time. Something has been changed and that is making it very frustrating to play right now. This happened to the DD one other time since I have been playing and it was eventually corrected.

I do so love this game! I love the recent changes that were made and I look forward to when the DD returns to normal.

I think it is funny when SC (as has been posted by mods) that they don't want to introduce a diamond confirmation button because it will "inturrupt" the flow of the game, but will introduce so called events that really mess with the flow of the game. So what's up with that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ cell?

This is what an event should be like. Not great for everyone, but there's at least some use and value to it. It doesn't matter what the event is, as long as it profits players somehow without creating chaos at the same time.

I just purchased Tom this morning for 5 days. It's been so tempting to give up the dairy and sugar products to the visitors because sometimes they're offering almost like double max price for them. But I was saying no anyway because I didn't want to part with the items. I try to keep each of them at 35 to 40 but when they come and ask for more than half of what you have, its really hard to say yes....unless you have Tom. Other than the dairy and sugar they haven't really asked for much else other than crops. I keep my jam levels at around 20 each, but they haven't asked for any. Having Tom for the duration of the event will enable me to replenish my supplies for whatever I give away. If I didn't have Tom, I would be saying no to every request for dairy and sugar items, no matter how much they offered.

Really like this event more than double coins truck order and carrot season. Hope this event will come back again soon.

Thank you for this event, I made lot of money out of it. For low level player it's just excellent. They'll have money to buy machine when level up. Of course it affects the newspaper but I was able to find things to sell to the visitor.

For those who don't want to sell precious item to visitors, you need to understand how they work. Visitor always ask for what you have most (1st and 2nd) in your barn/silo (usually they ask for 40-60% of your stock) or something thing you don't have at all. Use this knowledge at your advantage, as during this event you can sell items more than their max price at the shop:
- stock what you want to sell them, they will ask for it. Make sure you rebuild the stock after. I stock egg and they ask for it constantly. Eggs are also easy to find in the shop.
- you don't want to sell axe, saw ? Easy, don't let any of them be at abundance in your barn. Sell some if you need to, you will eventually find axe, saw later.
- if they ask for what you don't have, try to find it in the market or at your neighbor's shop. You make a profit selling to visitor even if you buy at max price. If it's not easy to find, turn them away, they will come back with another request.

Thanks SC I've enjoyed this event. Didn't need the coins but have enjoyed the challenge of getting the little peps to ask for the right things. Certainly has helped with getting me closer to the patronage achievement also.

Great event really. I only wish they constantly come to ask me for showels, which I don't want to sell. Seriously double coins events are great and very welcome by players on lower levels who needs coins to save for machines. It is good for players who already have them all as they can always splurge on fancy decorations.
Just to mention I hope next event would be "jam season" .

I think I was at level 37, 10k of coins when this event started. Now level 38, bought the Jeweler, the last Smelter, an extra 435 apple trees a few hours away from the 3rd harvest, and 290k of coins.

So yeah, it was a great event.

It is a good event. Nice job, hopefully the next one will be just as good.

Wouldn't mind seeing this event extended or come by again because this really helped me!!!

First of all, I think it's super cool with the new Visitor Bonus Event:cool:

and think we need to double up on XP.(stars) this time:p

I really enjoyed this event! I made a cool quarter million by the end of it. But more than the money, I just really enjoyed an event that cause me to play the game differently.

I wound up with 725,000 more coins than I had when I started the event! A small portion of those came from elsewhere but most were thanks to the event I think. And I didn't even maximize the event as much as I could have. I imagine someone out there was able to pass 1 million. So I rather liked this event ;)

Well....aren't you polite...dafuq indeed. Just because I like to sell my crops to the visitors doesn't mean there's Nything wrong with it. I don't CARE if you can sell for more in your shop than to them. It's MY game, selling to the visitors is just another good and quick way to add more coins when needed so I can go and look for finished products to purchase.

What a great sale. Made a fair amount of coins and was able to rotate stock quite well.
Think it would be nice if visitors were to drop off an axe each time they attend, so we can chop our bushes ...or maybe FREE AXE BONANZA WEEK! :)

i sell my crops to the visitors too, but mainly just wheat, corn and carrot. obviously we can sell at the shop but i find that they go really slowly unless i price them real cheap (plus i dont have that many shop slots for these crops). at least the visitors are asking for prices somewhere in-between min and max price, plus they no longer have to keep harrassing me for my saws, axes and other stuff so i don't see why not.

Yehey!!! now i need to sleep less =p but its worth it. i enjoy this game so much, and now im enjoying it even more. better put an alarm now to harvest my crops and gathers my products at the proper time. thanx a bunch!

by the way, bout the young girl, mmm.. i think the best name for her is... "Chucky" (from the movie childs play).. coz she keeps on buying dangerous things (explosives and sharp objects)=p

Hi!! I didn't like this event,I liked carrot event more than this,although I was getting tired in the end as news paper was nothing but full of carrot ads!! :D I am waiting for a more challenging event that will last for a day or two max so that it doesn't get boring in the end!

I liked this event though dampened somewhat by the DD issue. Much better than the carrot event which I neither liked nor thought was useful. Eager for the next one. :)

Yeah this is a great oppurtinity but they always ask for the rare things so bad for them !!!!!!!

Loved it. Made me some quick coins.

Formula for 1 item = ( amount of money you get from the visitor / number of items you sell to them ) - max item price in the shop.

I think it is a marvelous event since it primairily focusses on money instead of XP's unlike most of the other events. Even though this means that i am not getting much useful out of it myself (level 63 and more money than i have time to give away) outside the challange of it, i am loving it!

I think especially for lower level players, when money *always* seems to be a big problem, will be able to contribute a lot, this is a great event, since participating is possible with any kind of product whatsoever.

I love seeing the neighbourhoodchat at the moment, its finally raining new machines and fishingnets/lobsterbath expansions.

Having a good time definately, keep up the good work!

I am loving this event! As a level 38, I've never had over 100k sitting around, right now I'm at 130k just from the dreaded bacon and eggs. Since it's my first visitors event, I decided to keep it simple and only focus on the one item. I swear I had to retrain my eyes to look for them, I was so used to ignoring the b&e ads!

It's a matter of simple tactics that's all. To make good money set up your barn and silo with top 3 quantity products being most expensive you can find relatively easily in dd, eg red scarves, blue sweaters, blackberry muffins, strawberries, tomatoes pumpkins. Have NO zero products at all in either place. Keep your main products at moderate qtys to maintain some stock for trucks/boats. The lil ppl will ask for one of your top 3 qty items each time. Rotate as dd changes. It's then so easy to make good coin.

Forget farming per se for a few days just keep basic crops to feed animals and run sugar and dairy etc. Grow expensive crops while you sleep. Keep watching your barn and silo figures to stay one step ahead of the lil ppl. Become a trader full on for a few days instead and watch your coin grow!

Enjoy!

This is my all time favorite event. Last time this event rolled around, I made about 750k. Now just 2 (I think 2) days in, I've made about 600k so far. My goal is to make a 1 million coin profit from the event. So far so good, I think I might meet my goal. Well I don't need the coins but I have a feeling SC is about to unleash their big update soon & this event is to help us get the coins we may need when it comes out (again thats just my theory). Thanks SC for this great event, I've been waiting for it for a long time now :).

I really REALLY do NOT like this 'event'!! Of course i understand that lower level farmers like it because of the bonus coins, but for me it's so annoying! In the DD there's almost only eggs, sweaters and blue hats. It's not funny, i would rather pay 3 * the normal price for good stuff in the DD...

So i truly hope, Supercell, that this awful visitor bonus event will not be repeated all too often...:mad::p

Oh oh wait, let me explain why i don't like it. First of all i don't need the coins. Besides that, i need premium stuff to fill boat crates and for my trucks. Both for levelling up fast. And for boat points. I use Tom to get some goodies but i also need the DD to buy nice stuff. I buy most of the goodies in the DD, Tom buys jams and some pies for me. I'm glad to have a big barn so i'm not short of anything, but the DD is so boring now. I'll be happy when this event ends:)

Dear SuperCell,

I think this event would be much improved if:

--> The visitors would NOT ask for any hardware items, ever.

--> XP for a sale were 50 instead of 5.

--> The visitors were to come much more often.

I guess it is good for lower levels who want money and don't want to earn it by selling in the roadside stand.

I don't like it because:

It undermines the DD horribly. Eggs, wheat, wheat, eggs, and a few shabby garments is all I see.

It isn't good economics. The double price (double what they would pay usually) is still not full price. If people want money there are better ways.

It is boring.

It doesn't pay anything else, only still puny price and weak experience. Give vouchers and I'll think about it.

So a long weekend with trashed DD, nothing really to gain.

I hope it happens seldom or never.

Maybe once in a while for those who think it's the greatest, though.

Oh, no. Not either one of those, lol. She reminds me of the brat from "The Bad Seed", pitching a fit if you don't jump at her command. Most of the time I just say no no matter what she is asking for. She gives me the creeps. Watch your back with that one. You might fall down the stairs accidently on purpose.

The visitors seem to me to be paying more than the max rate in the RSS. On any item that I price checked anyway...

I really like this event!! 😄 not that I want it every single time there is an event, but its a nice one every so often. I'm level 70, and I don't mind getting coins (and its a good way to get rid of all my wheat whilst I'm hunting for expansion materials, so I'm very happy). I don't think I have made the most of this event in the past so I'm trying to work out what goods make the best profit, and stocking up from the DD - just focusing on 2 items at a time and getting large quantities of those.

The rest of my game plays as usual and my RSS is as stocked as it ever was, so I'm surprised others are having problems. It would be good if the little people could stop asking for my axes though - i will be using them all up very shortly, and I'm not selling sharpes to little girls! Lol

I FINALLY understand why people love this event so much, and I have to admit I do too, NOW. It's not because of the coins, I don't need the extra. It's because it's a new challenge including clearing out barn space for all the items to buy to build up big enough supplies to make big bucks when the little peeps come around. I used to dislike this event a lot, but now that I "get" it, I LOVE IT!!

Do not like this event as the visitor mostly only will buy the stuff you stock in huge quantity like crop. They will not buy any item you have in low quantity.

The event I like most and miss most is double coins truck order event.
