Journal of a rusher....

Not bad.... I've been working on my TH8 games mostly. My rushed TH5 is just about ready for its brief visit to TH6; I've been working through defenses and walls as time permits. All that remains are the three barracks and two air bombs. I have three archer towers finishing up in the next couple of hours and I already farmed the elixir for the barracks, so I'll flip all three of those in when the ATs wrap. Tomorrow, a fourth builder frees up, so I'll start the TH6 upgrade then. Finish up the walls, lightning upgrade in the lab, and stow some resource for the new builds....

I just rushed one of my other games to TH7; same pattern as I'll use on this TH5. As always, all 5 builders and lab are active. Two of my TH8 games are overdue for the jump to TH9, but I need to get their walls up to level 7 first; I'm not fond of the idea of going to TH9 with any less than all purple walls.

The upgrade is so close I can taste it... 7 days left and declining fast. Farming has been great lately... new strategy I pulled off of a defense. 3 healers, 147 gobs, 15 wallbreakers, 3 rage, 1 jump, 2 poison (send in queen with healers and have her core toward the dark elixer with the wallbreakers, if she gets to low of health put in rage on healers or use ability. Once mortars target her send in goblins toward storages and mines to clean up what the queen misses. Toward the beginning of the attack if u have a king than use it as a coring mechanism and have it take out some outside buildings. MAKE SURE THE HEALERS DONT LOCK ON THE KING!!!) If I can use this strat and get loads of loot with lvl 4 gobs and a lvl 8 queen it will most likely work at th10 when I have a lvl 10 queen and lvl 5 gobs. I am at 42k dark and will hopefully upgrade the queen by the end of today. (need 45k)

Upgraded things since day 1

minions lvl 4--> lvl 5
6 spring traps lvl 1-->2

Things upgrading now

th9 --> th10
goblins 4-->5

Before th10 is completed I plan on doing these things

upgrade queen to 9
finishing all of the spring traps to lvl 2 :thumbsup:
elixer will be saved up for lab and spell factory upgrade
gold will be saved up for inferno tower creation
dark will be saved for lvl 10 queen

I think rushing only means to reach last th with max offense and walls as fast as possible. Now it is th11. Defense is not so important to take to the account.
So reaching th5 fast is not so important.
the bottleneck of the game for rushing is reaching 30/30 heroes in th9. because 20 levels of king + 30 levels of queen = 50 is not easy.
So in my idea buying 5 builders with gems or gemming early game upgrades is not important because it will not help you to finish 50 levels of heroes in th9 soon.
to reach 30/30 heroes you should max offense + walls every th and upgrade to the next one.
A good farmer can reach max walls before or at the same time of max hero for that th. so in th8 you only have 30-40 days.
I recommend to skip th8 if you dont war.

My TH5 game is now nearly maxed. I still had two troop updates to run, one level of walls, and one level of army camp to upgrade, so I went ahead and started the TH upgrade this morning. Had an hour to kill this afternoon, so I went out and raided the resources to finish off the last upgrades (well...get them started at least). I figured, hey - if SC wanted to give me a gem box, the least I could do was use it to boost my barracks! I've run three or four hours of raiding with boosted barracks while at TH5, generating more than enough resources for all the upgrades. I've just been using equal amounts of goblins, archers, and barbarians for my army (sometimes with a few wallbreakers) and I am down in Silver Leagues (Silver II at the moment). I've found this or a simple gibarch to be very effective, even with a mere 120 troop space.


I won’t be at TH6 for very long, but it’s important to enter TH6 with a well developed game so I can move quickly to TH7 (which is where the real game begins).


Once the upgrade completes, the steps I'll use to rush TH6 are similar to previous steps I've mentioned.


1) Buy all new items - army, resources, defense.


2) Build a new base.


3) Upgrade offensive structures first and begin troop upgrades.


Laboratory
Spell Factory
Army Camps
Barracks


4) Upgrade all remaining items to the same level as their counterparts (so, upgrade them to TH5 max levels).


5) Upgrade resource structures.


As soon as I have my preferred raiding troops upgrade (usually Barbarians, Archers, Giants, and Wallbreakers), all offense is upgraded, and everything is at least at the same level as their existing counterparts (TH5 max), I will start the upgrade to TH7. While it is upgrading, I'll continue to work on getting defensive structures upgraded and raid like a mad man to fill those storages.

I gotta say...loot's been great in Silver league. Even as a TH5 I am finding 150k-200k minimum for every raid and I don'the even have to next very long. At the lower cost of these upgrades, that adds up quick.

My army is one of three - even split among barbarians, archers, goblins (40/40/40), same with 3 wallbreakers, or a gibarch with 3 giants and 3 wallbreakers. I use CC troops every 15 minutes or so to take down a stronger TH6 or hit a younger TH7. I've even found a few dead bases this weekend, both here and on my TH8 games. (I never get dead bases....)

The way to enlightenment follows many paths. :) I am rushing very strategically, with a focus on offense and building a defense that will at least protect against the average attacker along the way. You're right; the first five TH levels are kinda blase...that'said why I gemmed up to TH5. I find the beginning of the game to be a slow grind to learn how to play and that bores me to tears, so I gem to a point where raiding becomes effective. It's just my personal preference, really. I've done it both ways a few times now. I have two other games I just pushed to TH7 a week or two ago; it took me over three months, but I got them through TH5 on two builders until I finally earned enough free gems to buy the third and fourth builders.

TH9 is definitely a bottleneck and I think that will be REAL clear when I report out on it here. I am working on two, soon to be three, TH9 games right now. The hero grind is just killin' me. I have one up to 15/18, the other at 10/9 (BK/AQ). The 7 day wait is brutal. On my TH11 game, rushed from TH7, I almost have my farming troops where they will be competitive finally and will be doing some serious raiding there soon; nearly everything is mid-leveled now, so I need more resources to uograde.

After some other discussions here, I am considering starting up a defenseless base. It's something I haven't done yet, so....

If you would like help on a defenseless feel free to ask... this is where mine is right now... maxed every troop but spells and did not get healers at th6. I still have only a lvl 1 cannon. From now on I might only upgrade gibarch and work my way to th8 as fast as possible. I am also starting a minimax account with my max th3. Ill tell u how that goes.

Yes. defenseless is both fun for war and great for farming.
I have a defenseless th8 myself. offense is near max (bk8 and hogs4)
Its fun to be in a 10v10 war at the bottom and 3* their no2 and no3.
Also many times they could not 3* my base in first attack!.
last war their no3 goes down to 3* me. really amusing.
Farming is very hard so for casuals. they 100% me many times without shield.

6 days away and I have been saving up loot like crazy. I finally got my queen cooking so I am resorting to milking using goblins and jump spells. At about 3.2 mil elixer, 2.4 mil gold and 6k dark (just upgraded queen yesterday). Now that I reached all my upgrade goals I am just saving for lab (elixer), inferno tower (gold), queen lvl 10 (dark), new structures with leftover. (maybe dark elixer drill)

Upgraded things since day 1
