TH8 upgrades should look like this
Upgrade lab to max
Upgrade DE spell factory to max
Upgrade barracks to max
New elixir and gold storages to max
Upgrade archers and Giants to max
Somewhere in between depending on the number of builders you have you should press the upgrade to th9 so by the time your Giants are done you'll be a th9.
A single moment more in th8 and you are wasting your precious time. Dead bases have much better developed gold and elixir collectors at Th9 so more loot when raiding=less amount of raids you need to perform per day and if you do it right and keep your heroes upgrading at th9 non stop you will have max heroes by the time your buildings max out.

Hey I agree there :) Just wanted to spend a little bit more time on that account in TH8 because I'm in denial to start another hero grind. That's my 3rd account that is currently undergoing the hero grind and its surely going to take more time to do

<Sigh> How well I know the feeling. I have two TH9s, a TH10, and a TH11, all doing the hero grind right now. I try to find time to raid but usually end up putting something else down to upgrade.

There's just not enough hours in the day....

Well...I had a few gems handy and decided to do a little boosted barracks raiding this evening whilst watching a movie. (Just enough to boost 3 barracks, the BK, and spell factory). After an hour of raiding, I had enough DE to put the BK down for his final upgrade to level 5, and get another barracks moving to level 9. That left me with just one builder free and 2.1M gold that I could either dump into walls or....

Yup - I decided to pull the trigger on the TH8 upgrade.

The game is well along in all areas, defense and offense, and TH8 is a good place to do some additional building. To say the least, I'm way overdue to get it started anyway (it's been two months after all). As soon as the builders free up again, I'll get those last two barracks upgraded and maybe raid some walls. Gotta hit some troops too, although farming troops are long since done and this game has been rocking the three stars on TH7 10v10 wars for weeks now.

Under other circumstances, I would have started this upgrade a few weeks back, but then I got into some clan wars and needed another TH7 game to round out the 10v10 and well...you know how that goes. :p

Of course,I have another TH7 in the wings...my defenseless just popped the TH7 mark and I should have it ready to war in a week or two. :cool:

Lol you fiends.. awesome to hear about the progress. My 2 week old TH10 has infernos, queen is at 20, king 17, and they are both upgrading non-stop. Funny to hear from my TH9 clanmates who are laying some smack on me because I didn't go with 30/30 heroes.. jokes on them because my archers are level 7 in 2 days, camp space will be 240 in about a week, and then i'll have a stronger farming army than them. 2 weeks later level 7 barch and then I'll have my farming army/camp space good to go until TH11.. this is unreal. Honorable mention: TH9 clanmates are using goblin knife/giwiz for farming and are sharing replays.. my level 6 barch is pulling in more DE than them and gold and elixir for a much cheaper cost. Some people will never learn..

I upgraded my main to game to TH10 just a bit before you. As I've mentioned before - I get all that is new and upgrade it to the previous max before really focusing on anything new. Same as always for this game.

Very brief journal of my rushing experience. Summarized in one paragraph, although this spans through 1.5 years.

Once upon a time, a jelly-like creature played clash of clans. He accidentally fell on top of his ipad and upgraded his town hall. Him being the dumb person he is, he kept on upgrading it cuz it was fun. He became town hall 9 and became an ultimate failure. But he didn't give up, and he is the lvl of a new town hall 7 in walls, and a max town hall 8 in defenses!

LOL. Nice. Yeah...lots of us have gone the premie route on our first run through the game. It's a challenge to get caught back up. But you must have done something right...462 stars in war ain't shabby.

I premie'd my first game, as well as my current TH11 game. It took me about 6 months to clean the one up so it was a solid TH9 game and the TH11 is now working on TH9 upgrades but still has pink walls (level 6). The key to breaking out of premie status is getting your raiding troops upgraded. You can have level 5 or 6 structures on your village, but get the offense upgraded to TH9 levels and you're just as potent as anyone else in the game. Offense absolutely rules in this game and with limited loot retention, you just have to be patient and raid in spurts.

Strangely enough, I never premie'd the first time. But to me, it was common sense, offense > defense and you'll always be fine. A lot of strategies and methods I've used were found out by myself, that's why many ideas in my guides were quite novel at the time (now they're common sense).

In the era of sniping, rushing was punished because maxers get to hide behind snipes while rushers are getting mauled. Now, nobody is ever safe, my TH10 who maxed TH9 didn't see any change in loot retention after reaching TH10 nor after maxing both infernos. My maxed TH11 is tripled on a daily basis, but the 16 hr shield is advantageous so I keep it. My rushed TH9s aren't suffering as bad as long as I keep my DE low.

But I must say, the first time I rushed, I did it because I maxed walls too fast. But as I rushed, I learned more and more advantages and used it on my subsequent runs, resulting in better and better results.

They say post-dec is the death of the game. I say its just the death of casual maxers
