As several have said, relying on your collectors is not going to get you anywhere. What you need to do is stop raiding for gold and elixir and focus on raiding for de. Moving up higher also helps significantly.

Another D.E. Drill wouldn't hurt anyone so why not. Personally I hate having a odd number of buildings & like to keep my Base Balanced.
I agree with the OP, my troops want to take more form L7 drills then they currently do from L6 drills.
Hmm I don't know about that one. TH9 already has 3 additional drill levels over a TH9 and TH10 just has an extra drill and no additional levels. One side effect of insisting on maxing everything at every TH is that I believe that DE wise there's something to be said for advancing to TH10 even if your DE stuff isn't fully maxed yet but your lab is sitting idle for example.
Yes I realise it might be a strange concept however I really believe getting and holding on to DE is much easier at TH10 with the heavier offense TH10 has to over and the additional drill. It outweighs the loot penalty vs attacking TH9s as a TH10 in my personal opinion.
Of course if you're in a super serious war clan it's probably not an option to advance to TH10 unless you are fully maxed as TH9.
I think the OP has a point for people who don't attack much.
I have a base I build off only the pumps.
Once you hit about 60k DE in your storage. You are done. It's pretty much impossible to go higher on drills alone.
Where prior to TH11 you could.
I can't speak on TH10 since I'm a TH9 but my needs at TH9 are met with the current setup. The DE requirements for TH9's aren't bad and I've never considered it a problem. I'm at a point where I'm doing walls and heroes. The last troop I need to train to max out are goblins (all DE troops done). In raid I only attack bases with 2k DE or more and let the gold and elixir fall where it may.
On the other hand, if someone didn't raid much and participated in war a lot (draining DE in some cases) then I could see the struggle. Do you think it could be more of problem solving your strategy to see how you can get more DE? or is it so far gone another drill is required? I don't have a problem with another drill at TH9 but I'm also not raising the lack thereof as a problem.
I do, but I know the boosting is not permanent, and I'm seriously having to consider what I'm going to do with it all. My elixer and DE are both getting full, and I don't have a builder/lab available for several days! If 1 gem boost was permanent I doubt I would raid as much.
Raid more. Maxed at TH9 and again at TH10. Heck maxed my heros at th10 and don't even have lvl12 archer towers done yet. Heck the new cannon was still gold. Put in the time and get to raiding with strong armies to get the DE storages.
