I am sick of being plundered by level 45 - 50's because my TH holds me back from any real upgrades.
At lvl 7 I receive extra cannons archer towers etc, etc, but all the advice is saying max out before upgrading TH.
And trying to keep enough stock to upgrade the TH with all these attacks is almost impossible!
Advice please but only the constructive sort.
I normally agree that it is good advice to max out all at a Town Hall level before going to the next. However, TH6 is the only special case. It really is rubbish, as you say. I'd recommend pushing to get to TH7, but then planning on spending a very long time there maxing it out before going to TH8. A maxed TH7 can do very well defending against all but the most ambitious TH8 and TH9 players with maxed out troops.

The advice to upgrade all buildings before upgrading town hall is good advice. If you are finding it hard to defend at TH6, just think how hard it would be to be TH7 with TH6 defenses. You would be easy pickings for any TH8 in your trophy range. Right now, they probably pass you by due to the loot penalty for attacking 2 TH levels down.
My suggestion would be to take a serious look at your base design to ensure that you are making good use of the defenses that you have. Another thing that has helped me is putting my Town Hall in a corner. If you get lucky, the first one to attack you will take the quick 1-star win and not pillage your whole village (it happens more frequently than you might imagine). By giving up 1k elixir, 1k gold, and a handful of trophies I get a free 12 hour shield.
Besides, your stated issue is not being able to adequately defend your resources. If that is the case, you should do everything you can to protect your resources - and ONLY your resources. The 4 structures in the center of your village should be gold and elixir stores. And always remember to empty your mines and pumps before logging out.
I would suggest maxing TH6 by farming. Otherwise level 45-50 wont be your biggest problem anymore. You may wanna change your trophy range if your having trouble gaining and keeping resources.
i agree with this post...even if you do level to TH 7, you get your extra walls/cannons/def etc...TH8 can just walk right in and take all your loot without penalty.Quote:

It goes like this:
attack brings on shield which helps to amass gold/elixir but then shield runs out before I can amass enough and I am attacked again thereby starting the whole process again

Yes - I should have mentioned that in my first reply. A good attack will typically take more resources than you will lose in a defense. The 1-star shield is an attempt to limit the number of defenses to 1 between your attack sessions.
I think some football coach once said "The best defense is a good offense". Quite true in CoC.
