This times 1000. Even Lach has underestimated them it seems. These are the same people that are creating burner accounts just to mod. I might.. If the outcome of the war depends on that base. There can be a copying roster so the work is fairly distributed.

If you just disable friendly challenges during clan war, you just have to go to another clan for 10 minutes (or with another account) to test whatever you want to test

So ... I have a maxed base with max troops ... So do 4 others in my clan. So in war its kinda logic we have 5 maxed bases in enemy team. O look at this same heroes same troops times 5 ������������

Starting to think supercell took a patent. Only they are allowed to destroy the game ... Themselves ����

Come up with fun clan games. If you're a TH11, see if you can wreck your clanmates TH9 bases with only goblins, jumps, and heroes.

Make a special base of your own with your infernos tucked away in the corner (away from the action), and see if your TH9 mates can take out your TH.

As has been said already, the concept is ok for a bit of fun - but it is open to abuse. (This is where the concern lies!)

Why should taking the time and effort to master your troops to clock a base be given to those who can't?

Thats like saying an 'engineering' degree, excuse the pun - is of the same value as a degree in colouring in.

OP- you do realize war day is 24 hours...yes?

It doesn't matter what base you use in prep day. Plenty of time to practice on your final base layout during the war. Amazed at the amount of players that cannot see this.

Who scouts bases on prep day anyhow? Updates can come into play, troll bases, changes, etc. Oh...those clans.

Why are so many people being naive as to assume that copying the opponents base will be a difficult thing?

I am sure the folks at XMod are breathing a heavy sigh of relief that to get back into the game, they just have to create a base copy routine.

I suspect it could be done without an app.

Take a screenshot of the base... Upload it to a server which returns a script that would run on top of bluestacks to build the base.

Short of banning bluestacks, nothing can be done to detect or combat it. And that's just off the top of my head. I am sure that there are more elegant ways.

it doesnt take long to copy a base especially since you can save up to 3 bases. probably take like 20 mins or less to copy it and you dont need to make it 100 percent. just get most the main points of the base completed and thats it.

Please don't do this update. There is no fun in it. It takes everything the game was meant for and killing it. Make everyone learn how to attack the old way. But if you do this you really need to make it so the clan can't edit their main base to attack until after war is over. Meaning they can edit their base but members won't be able to attack the new base if its during war. But the base will change for normal use. Other wise you'll have the sandbox clans cheering for joy.

Supercell, the chess game you are playing is perfect. Well done.

1. You started banning modders with the Psychic Octopus to send them into disarray but did not permanently ban them, you gave them a second chance. Rook takes Queen!
2. You introduced fast cook times for heavy armies to improve the game and reward fair players (and we raided a lot of dead banned bases too) Bishop calls Check!
3. You said you would introduce some features into the game similar to what modders were using, and you just did. But you did it in a way that is fair for everyone. Queen calls Check!
4. Mod Developers are cornered and Modders have little incentive to cheat. Checkmate!

Not all of the bases need to be practiced on, just a few so this can be bad. We are in a really close war right now and having a th8 scout my th9 has already made the real attack easier, now imagine if they had a couple tries let alone unlimited. Or maybe he wants to see how is aq is gonna path, so they can just duplicate1/4 or even a corner my base to match and watch where the aq goes.

Easy fix though...u hit save on ur war base...48hr cool down on that base before it can be challenged

Of course, I also see the potential for war abuse if the proper safeguards aren't implemented. But I'm cautiously optimistic that such safeguards will be implemented, and that the "pros" will outweigh the "cons." This is my opinion of course, but I don't think Supercell is unaware of the war aspect of this feature...

As my clans most advanced base and heaviest hitter (we're a casual friends/family clan), I already offered a $50 iTunes gift card to the player that can 3* my base.

Hasn't this just killed war? Now we copy enemy base design and practice until we crack it, no skill required just a 2nd account and time. Very bad idea SC, and you were doing so well dealing with cheats.

Perhaps
1) Those with war timer are not allowed to use the features.
2) Clan that is in war time are not allowed to use the features.

I just entered a 3 star clan, and this suddenly happen. Well just great, very great. Wasted effort of learning the game mechanic and then, boom destroyed by just 1 update.

if they safeguard war...this is a game changer... Expect a lot of pbt complaints to ensue... With clan activity going thru the roof and no one logging off because theres so much to do between raids lol

Competitive clan wars will die with this update, I'll bet on that. Probably good for the non-competitive scene though.

Sounds good and could possibly be a game changer.

Love the idea if, only if, it's not available during war prep or war days... I'd love to take a 2nd crack at a base, after war.... During war just isn't fair

Cheating made legal. Lack of skill is no longer an issue to join a top war clan. You only need to be jobless, no partner no children or other obligations and you will do fine. Just practice until you 3 star any base. It is kind of handy to predict the outcome of any war. It will always be 100% vs 100%.

It's just an admission by SC that modding was bigger than they thought, they can't ban everyone for doing it as it would affect the game, so they've just made the sandbox attacks legal.
No point designing bases now, if your base isn't recogniseable as a 'mass' base it'll just get scouted in war then it will be built with traps in place and attacked until they figure out how to 3 star it.
SC has really, really screwed up here.

Supercell needs to think about this, this is sandboxing made legal. Perhaps, they should disable friendly challenge when a clan is on war. What might happen is another member of the clan can copy an opponents base, and practice their attacks on it until they get to 3 star it.

This will basically take out the excitement of attacking during war.

You don't need to practice even. You just need to watch the replay and follow my attack.

I guess I really need to wait for the rollout to judge. Maybe if Supercell takes out the ability to see enemy bases during prep day this won't be so bad. Wars length will have to shortened too, other wise TH10 & 11 will just practice the 3 star for 23 hours and attack in the last hour.

1st- I'm a 35 year old man that plays a mobile game religiously and regularly comes on to an internet forum to discuss said game, believe me, there is not risk of me trying to be cool.

2nd - I'm not side stepping anything. I just dont necessarily have a problem with this feature at this point in time. My opinion may change once I see it in practice or if we get new details but for now, as long as everyone can do it if they choose, I dont have an issue. I honestly probably wont or rarely will as I have a job and family and cant spend hours copying and attacking dummy war bases.

Supercell said that they will TRY TO KEEP CoC and ROYALE DIFFERENT FROM EACH OTHER. The Friendly Challenges is the Clash Royale feature Friendly Battle. They have stepped backward to the commitment.

This is maybe a cool thing to test your base and attacktraining BUT its "legal xmod" for coc.
only with cooldown timer for about 48h it could be nice.
give us some more information about your friendliy challenge. cooldown or not, maybe copy button for layouts from other peoples etc...

Then surely you may be concerned that the odds are most certainly stacked against you when you get the ex-mod and new supercell mod clans running your base every war, no matter the layout? Wouldn't that kill your fun? I know it would kill mine.

This feature does not make coc like cr, its a similar feature but the game play is still completely different. All of their games usually utilize similar variations of the most popular features. Just because coc has clan wars and Hay Day has derbys does not mean coc and hd are now the same game.

Why boot moders then in your next update take that feature? You are killing your own game. This will destroy the war community, you can coy a base and practice, the main issue that you said you were stopping.

I like the idea of being able to let my clan mates test their skills against my war bases, or for that matter my farming base. Some clans will take the time to build replicas of enemy bases in war & perfect 3 star attacks. Yes, that's similar to what modding offered, but it's no longer an exact copy. It's available to everyone, so it is fairplay.

Those of you complaining that you don't have time to copy an enemy base & practice on it, are probably going to lose to the types of clans that will put that much time & effort into the game, anyway. You might as well complain that some people are using war armies to farm while your using GiBarch. Skill comes with practice & fairplay rewards clans that are more skilled.

Time will tell. As I said, I may change my position once I see it in practice and see exactly how exploitable it ends up being.

For me this is the worst update SC have released so far. I've been playing on 2 accounts now for a few years and I'm part of a successful war clan. Part of the game for me was building up the knowledge and skill to 3* an opponents base while defending against it yourself. This mod completely changes that.

For me it completely destroys the spirit of the game and seems like nothing more than a money making exercise from SC in an attempt to please the modders. For me banning it's use during wars isn't enough as there are very clear ways around this.

Naturally I'll await the release of this to judge for myself but if it is as it seems I shall quit the game. No longer see any point in playing.

Such a shame.

Please don't do this update, it's a silly idea, great thing about wars is you only get one shot.

Modding was less prevalent than what SC are offering however. I would rather take the 1/10 wars rather than the 8/10 wars anyday.

So, the ‘challenge’ is to do the following in war:
1. Clan mate makes the copy of opponent base (making best guesses what may be in the cc and were the traps are)
2. Another clan mate practices the best possible attack on this village until she gets it right.
3. She attacks. If 3* are not achieved, the base is reconstructed with traps and cc in mind.
4. Another clan mate attacks the updated village until she gets it right
5. She executes the attack on that village and scores 3 stars!!!


It doesn’t sound like a big challenge.
Maybe the feature should be renamed to ‘no challenge’?


The above is the reason I don’t think this change is going to be a good one.


As this new change seems to map very well to what ‘xmod’ (or whatever it is called) did, I want to mention that I thought ‘xmod’ was ruining the game just because it allowed quick iterative practice which provided players with way too fast ability to learn.


The greatest thing about Clash of Clans is the real challenge in learning through attacks on diversity of village layouts which you could not easily redo. Therefore, ‘after the fact’ analysis of a failed attack is prone to false conclusions which need to be retested at some later point in future. This pushes a passionate player to keep in mind much larger number of attacking possibilities over a longer period of time in order to advance her game. With the introduction of this new feature, I am afraid such great concept will become endangered and maybe even disappear.

THIS SHOULD BE DISABLED DURING CLAN WARS to be fully effective and fair during wars. Please think about it supercell. Myself I am fast at base building and can copy my matches base and switch hidden def around in spots available with in the base. So please do think about it to make it fair to all. If you give us the chance we will all b doing it those that can build fast will make it unfair play which is against your policy. (Lol we might have to ban supercell for unfair play haha) and make sure it is clan wide and not just war participants. There will b some that might start another clan just to try and play unfair but we realize that you can't stop everything, but you can stop this kind of unfair play. I'm in a Top German Warclan and to be honest. This Update is like incredibly horrible for clanwars!!!! Dear SC you prohibited modding and "cheating" so that you don't lose your gamers you add this "sandbox" tool. People will copy bases from enemys and train their attack. So Clanwar won't be a matter of skill anymore, instead it's just a matter of time! Top Clans won't be happy with that and you will lose more gamers! So here is my solution for this Situation. Make this tool only available for CLANMEMBERS who are not in war. Also for people who are not taking part in clanwars! Otherwise they can just do it for those who are. To have the safety that they just don't open a new clan. Add an extra bar like the one you have when you left a clan during cw and also make at availabe at a certain clan lvl. My recommendation would be lvl 7 or 8.
I hope you can find a solution with the players not agains!

This feature needs to be disabled when a clan is in war. There's no scenario where you can maintain the spirit of what wars are and allow opponent bases to be copied and practiced.

On the face of it, this seems like a good feature that will hopefully make clan chat and the social aspect of the game better, however I do have some concern over what it will do to wars. For the hardcore gamers who have time to duplicate and test against their opponents bases I think this will be a welcome update, however for the larger majority of casual clans whose players do not have the time to do this, it could make wars pretty much pointless (unless up against a similar casual clan of course!).

Holding judgement on this one till the update hits, hopefully will work out okay, although just can't quite shake that niggle at moment!

I think people are missing the point. War was unique because it only gave you one shot at a base. The most skilled players win, end of story(besides modding of course). There are thousands of games where you just practice and put the time in, and beat it. The first game i played was super mario brothers, super fun game. But if i beat it in an hour from skill, and the worst player ever took 5 years to beat it, we both beat it, you know? This game is also a time sink, for the most part. Pushing is almost entirely a time sink, looting is almost entirely a time sink. You get the basics down, and that's it, just time. War was different.

Now, say war starts, and you have someone that triples a max th10 from skill on their first try, just skill and a good scout. Then on the other side, they have an awful attacker practice for 23 hours straight on a max Th10, gets a triple. The war is a tie. Should it have been? The most skilled did NOT win. This turns war almost entirely into a time sink, and takes 90 percent of the skill out of it. THAT is why most of us who chose not to mod did not. There were no consequences up until recently for modding, and yet we didn't do it. Some may have chosen not to because of TOS reasons, and indeed that is part of it. But the main reason is that we like war as it is, we like that the better player usually wins.

Read Lach's thread if you haven't as he addresses many of your concerns and how they will play out in the real world. You are assuming everyone will now 3 star every base because they have the opportunity to practice but the reality and the worst case scenario are two different things and you seem to be on the worst case scenario bandwagon.

If you or a clan mate has the patience and time to copy an enemy war base so that others may practice more power to you. This will be great for lower levels still learning the game. Bravo!

This feature has been requested by 50% of clashers since the beginning of COC.

Omg so many ppl crying like nabs here, this is the best thing ever happened in game.... now more ppl can explore faster the world of wars and learn faster to attack and understand the war system.. as a member of regular mid war clan this goonna be huge for my clan mates and we can improve a lot better.

Its gonna be used for some nooobs to copy bases but dudes just draw war base with a finger in it and place it during war preparation and change it 10 min before its starts... so difficult?

If this ruins clan wars, you officially beat the war comunity to death, i hope this will be a joke but its supercell so it probably wont be. Clan wars is the most enjoyable part of the game, and after you neglected it for so long and FINALLY did something about xmodders, you add a sandbox type aspect to the game. War will no longer be determined by who the most skill has,but by repeating attacks over and over again untill they get it right.

i guess i should have seen this massive pile of garbage comming, since its mostly what SC gives to the war community

if this ruins it, i will refund, and delete this game along with clash royale, you deserve a slow clap SC, for beeing the only company that has screwed me over this much but still kept me playing

He doesn't alleviate anything - he is just speculating his very skewed opinion. If anything it raises more concerns that he did a 180 turnaround from a no to yes this is fine.

People will spend the time to do this (we already spent a long time to make armies etc.), copying a base is really not hard to do and would take minutes of the day. It will become a requirement to win. I'm not sure why others find it hard to see that far ahead.

This is going to kill Clan Wars for the casual player and that is the majority of your clients. Stopping it during wars simply won't work. This is a big throw of the dice from SC. SNAKE EYES.

This is a great step. But I have a question. "Suppose I unlock Golems and I want to use them in a friendly challenge but don't want to take them in any of my attacks. But since I have already trained them I have to use them or remove them. Can't I test my troops without adding them to my camp? "

Yup spot on. It used to be you could be very competitive in war without spending hours a day on it, if you were good enough. Skill ruled the day. I do not look forward to a war environment where he who has the most free time wins.

I don't know what SUPERCELL has planed about it. But as the members saying about to prevent SANDBOX, The friendly attack should not available in BATTLE DAYS or members in war can't participate. But there is still some problem. Others members should copy the base and will make a attack and which can see all other members, which will help them. And if is UNAVAILABLE in battle days players can use in preparation days as well or if UNAVAILABLE both in battle and practice days then nothing is left. So I can see only one solution...As in clan wars the battle day layout became active in next war...thus the Friendly Challenge will always be in current layout..If it is edited during the Preparation Day or Battle Day...It will active after the end of the battle..but the active village and war base can be edited as per the rule...But will not appear in the friendly challenge..

I doubt the awful attackers are going to bother with this. Awful attacks are done by people that haven't taken the time to learn how to deploy troops, let alone how to analyze a base & come up with the right strategy. They're not going to take the time to sandbox.

It is going to give an edge to a few super hard core clans that have multiple people willing to take a lot of time to build copies of your bases. The average clan rarely faces them & would almost certainly lose either way. This is a bit of a sop for the former modders, but it's available to all. I'll be surprised if any leaders in the FP war community cry over this.

If it is blocked both in preparation day and battle day then when will the members go for friendly challenge...coz most of the clans start new war after just the end.

Well, if you read the announcement, you would know that I will have to build opponents' bases for my clanmates to practice on. It has nothing to do with my attacking skill. And, yes I do regularly three star my mirror TH10. Still reserving judgment but possibly the end of clan war and the game.

Prepare to be surprised then. Look at the latest video jake put out, then scroll down to the comments. Large number of the big FP guys are viewers of that channel, and they almost all hate this change.

It's a nice game

It will be really easy to set up a scrimmage against friend clans now. You can just send over a few players at a time to do a friendly battle with little prep time and no practice hits then you just keep score yourself
