What is engineered base and why they are complain about it ?

The amount of crying on forums on engineered and defenseless bases are from the same people crying about modding. They needed something to rebound to justify their loss in war and defenseless/engineered was right next door. Even if supercell fixes these kind of bases in some sort of way, they will rebound again and again. It's the same as spoiling a kid over and over again.

I'm finally gonna chime in on this subject (I actively avoid drama).
I don't understand a couple of things about this argument.
First, why all the hate from each side? Can people not just accept that everybody likes to play this game a little differently? Granted, I have seen a few forumers go out of their way to be civil (thank you), but each side has it's proponents that refer to the other side with disgust. They say "Maxxer" or "Engineered" like they are dirty words SMH.
Second, my clan faces clans with engineered accounts on occasion (1out of every 10wars maybe), and have faced 3-4 severely engineered clans. We have won every single war except one, and that was not because of their engineered accounts. It was because I botched a pivotal attack. So, for any clan running th9 and below wars, victory or defeat rest cleanly on your shoulders unless you're matched to a clan with th10+ defenses, or a great deal many more high lvl th9s. To those with th10+, I cannot comment.

I wanna end by saying that both sides of this argument have validity.
People that max all/most of their base usually want to face very similar clans in war, and don't like the fact that engineered clans have more strong high-end attacks.
People that engineer bases for war are usually really into war, and have invested alot of time(or money) into giving their clan those extra high-end attacks. They don't wanna be put out into the cold after all their hard work. Who would?

I like how you reply to my reply and call me a "whiner" when I've never complained about defenseless bases, keep swinging away though. I'm totally down with defenseless accounts, they have never affected the outcome of my clans war log. I merely said that for so many people to be complaining about this particular issue there may in fact be a problem.

The crux of the problem is this: we all have different definitions of fairness in the clan war matchup. Some people think that defense parity is all that matters, others think both defense and offense parity matters, still others think that offense parity is all that matters. Supercell made a post about overhauling clan war matchmaking but the phraseology created a ton of confusion.

We can talk about engineering now because of the great argument put forth when sniping was removed: "it was not how the game was meant to be played." We can now engage in a discussion about whether supercell intended for the hyper-optimized bases to be a part of war. People on both sides of the debate should care: if SC did not intend for the engineered accounts to be so prevalent, they may take action, and it would be better for them to take it now rather than later.

I do wish SC would take a stand on the matter. Make it clear to everyone how they meant for the game to be played.

Some people find these bases fun and challenge to build and I'm all for that. We all have little things, in the game that we do to keep active and keep the game feeling fresh. When this becomes a problem is when it unbalances the competitive part of the game.

I do think that the person who came up with this is smart. I've only seen it in war once against us and we all kinda went huh that's a pretty good idea. If it is skewing match ups though I would have to believe that Supercell will fix it or at least tweak it a bit in the future.

100% agree. If people stopped warring or left the game over this problem, there would be fewer clans to war against and matchups would be worse for the remaining clans. In general, I dislike calls for complainers to "zip it" because that mentality just leads to people leaving the game rather than discussing issues about the game.

It took SC years to "fix" the "issue" of TH sniping, and they painted it as a smart and dirty strategy when they announced they were removing the free shields. The same could happen here, and it would be better for everyone if they made their intentions clear now rather than a year from now

Their matchmaking system is a good enough indication of how they feel. I don't see why we need SC to explicitly state anything, it's not as if we are catholics/christians eagerly awaiting the Pope's yearly speech.
