My first question is there any advice you guys can give me on my base? Weaknesses? What should I upgrade etc. In depth answers would be awesome. The second question is I'm planning on buying 2500 gems so, what should I use them on? Just looking for ideas and possibilities.

I can't give you much info on your base. But if you're going to buy gems I would buy the last builder if you really wanted to.
Yeah I've been leaning towards 5th builders hit as an obvious idea but I thought maybe buying time would be pretty cool. Like I think I'd be able to do all cannons to level 10 or all mortars to lvl 6, etc. Input from anyone who's bought this stuff? Side note from what I've heard the heros are not worth it. True?

If you're only planning on buying gems once, builders first. I've talked to way too many people who've spent gems on other things aside from builders and regretted it.

Definitely get the builders first!
Its nice to have more flexibility when deciding between upgrades.
The only thing I have spent money on is the last builder, and I had some extra gems so I got the Barb King as well.
Haven't tried using him yet, though
I only used them on builders, but after I got my 4th I just gave up and used every gem i got from an obstacle for troop speedups.
Things to build up
1) Upgrade air defence
2) Upgrade hidden telsa
3) Upgrade Cannons
4) upgrade Wizards tower
5) upgrade archer towers
According to sequence.
Use your gems on
1) Buy the 5th/last builder
2) Dark elixers for Barb king
