Cavebears

Hi folks

With the rapid influx of new members in the last day I have decided to change recruitment to invite only.

We need the clan to settle down, have an opportunity to get to know each other, give new members time to adjust to our ways of doing things, and see who really wants to stay.

Whoever advertised our clan on global chat, I thank you for your enthusiasm, but please don't do that again, it just seems to encourage people who know nothing about us to hop on board. Thanks.

Over the next week there will probably be a weeding out process as identify people who have by chance jumped into our clan randomly and who do not match our play style.

Do not expect this to be a fast process. I believe in giving everyone a fair chance. Mistakes will be made and not everyone is perfect. Please be patient. If you cant be patient then perhaps this clan is not really for you and I cordially invite you to join one more suited to your play style.

At the end of the day I would rather have 20 rock solid, reliable clan members who have joined because of the clan values I have written up in this thread and in our clan description, rather than 50 clan members who just want to do whatever pleases them. Its easy to build up again if we have a good solid core of members, its not so easy to build up if there are just a lot of people who have joined for no other reason than just wanting to be in any old clan.

With so many new members I need to consider the matter of Eldership. I am considering the criteria for Eldership. At this stage the giving of eldership will based on a number of factors:

1) Willingness to take responsibility. Specifically to act within clan values and enforce with polite and fair warning our clan rules.
2) Helpfulness to other players in chat and in this forum. Especially a willingness to give polite friendly advice to new players.
3) Donations. Always good to have lots of donations flowing.
4) Geographical location. Five regions: Oceania, Asia, Middle East, Europe and America.
5) Participation in this thread.

I will expand on those points later.

This will be a slow process, it may very well take weeks, not days.

I invite your opinions and comments on the Eldership matter here on this thread.

I'm all for eldership. The thing is, to invite, you have to be elder. Magnifico, Jorg, Bob Fossil, and Gandolf, maybe even me? :rolleyes: They are the members I think deserve elder.

Cavebears, we need to some elders to police the rules of the clan. Bob Fossil, Mag, Jorg, Gandolf and me, I believe we have already shown the values you need for an elder.

I believe if you had stayed with us you would have become increasingly frustrated with my style of leadership. Your recent commands to me to accept a player as a member and your commands to me to "get in the forum" I find both disrespectful and rude, and indicative of your desire to be a leader rather than a follower.

I wish you well in your new clan, you have displayed strong leadership qualities and so I have every reason to believe that Cavebears2 or whatever you now choose to call it will be a mighty success.

I have already, told you in your own thread that I'm too intrenched in our clan and have made great friends there. To add to what I've already said I'm a teem player and this clan has been good to me. I like all the principles it has, it suits me perfectly. There is no pressure put on you and the clan chat is lively and entertaining. I wish you well Conorbear and good luck with your clan. I hope you stick to your promise and treat us kindly😄

i like what you said about having a 20 rock solid clan of like minded members and work from that, as I've said before I spent weeks looking for the right clan and when I thought I finally found one their expectations were so high it would have taken ages to achieve them. Then I stumbled across cavebears and here at last was just the one I've been looking for. The mater of an elder. I hope whoever you pick has all the qualifications above and I think there are some great members you can chose from that have stuck by us.

Mike, please let me back in your clan. I promise, just give me one more chance, I won't try to take control of your clan, and I'll take everything you said onboard, and I'll promise not to behave like I did. Please. Just one more chance.

If you are taking the time to read this thread then you are likely looking for a clan. I spent about four days looking around the forum for a clan that i felt i would enjoy. Well I found the "Cavebears" clan. Having played multiplayer games like this in the past I am aware of the impact that your clan can have on making the game play enjoyable. I did not want to clan hop to find and exceptable clan (clan hoping can give you a bad reputation and generate ill will). If you are looking for a good clan then just reply to this thread that you would like an invitation and we will send you one. Mike$ is the clan leader and we currently do not have elders and such. If you are looking to be an elder or leader then we are not the clan for you. At some point in time elders and leaders will be selected -but we don't intend to dwell on and discuss in our team chats.. Mike$ will pick people ultimately based on participation... Again multiplayer games like this need active players in leaderships roles to assure strong clan with continuity and stability.
