[Suggestion] Player retention via Notifications
Hello, for a game like clash of clans to retain players, it must use the notification system to its own advantage.
Currently it does the opposite!
I used to receive notifications when my troops were ready, when my spells were ready, when my clan members pushed a message about war, and when my shield was about to expire... None of these are happening any more. These notifications would retain my interest and keep me playing, as they reminded me of the game at a time when I could log in and actually play.
Now - Instead, I ONLY receive notifications when people are attacking me. However, when people are attacking me I cannot do anything about it... If they gain me a shield then I might not want to play for up-to 13 hours after an attack, as at my mid level range, resources' gains are far too slow, even from raiding. Yes the fastest way to gain resources, is to Not play. So when you give me a notification that someone is attacking me, it is affectively giving me a notification to Not log in, to Not play, for at least the next 6 hours and for up-to 13 hours. My next notification will then be to say someone else is attacking me, as I was not notified that the shield was due to expire.
I used to take a look at the replay from attacks, to see how I could improve my village layout, but I don't feel the need to do this at the moment.
In comparison to the old notifications, you have made a big mistake. You are losing my playing interest, and I would bet that you are losing many other player's interest too. I see that you have also lost the interest of my clan members, who used to take part in wars, now we just lose every war, because they do not receive enough "Well timed" notifications to keep them actively playing.
I can't pretend to speak for everyone, maybe you made this change due to people on these forums suggesting that you notify them of being attacked - rather than notify them when they can play. Maybe you did it to promote revenge attacks. I do not feel any need to take revenge on my attackers, as due to imbalance in the games matchmaking systems, I only ever get attacked by people who are of a much higher level than my clan is... So there is literally no point in the revenge button being there. Attempting revenge is a pure waste of time for anyone without suicidal tendencies.
The changes to these notifications has affected my personal game play experience and that of my clan members.
It must also have had a big affect on the overall player retention of the game.
Please resolve this issue, and put the notifications back as they were.
