It would be nice for two friendly clans to be able to have a friendly war. Example of how this would work:
- Leader or Co-Leader hits the button to start a war.
- Option is given for Random or Clan ID (e.g. my clan ID is #YPR8CGRV).
- If Random is chosen it will pick a random clan to war as normal.
- If Clan ID is chosen you would enter the Clan ID.
- If the Clan ID is for a clan that is in war, or in war preparation, it will reject the request with the message, "This clan is not eligible for war."
- If the Clan ID is for a clan that does not exist it will reject with the message, "This clan does not exist."
- If the Clan ID is for a clan that does not have enough clan members to match what the challenging clan has it will reject the request with the message, "This clan does not have enough clan members."
- If the clan you're trying to war exists and is not in war, all Leaders and Co-Leaders in the clan you're requesting a war with will see the exclamation mark on the War button (the two crossed swords) like the one that shows up when War begins. They will have the option of accepting or declining the war for X amount of hours (say 12 hours) before the option disappears.
- You can only send a request to war the same clan once every 24 hours (to prevent spam), although if the clan rejects your offer to war they can still send you their own request.
- Once a clan accepts the war they will select which clan members will participate. The clan accepting the challenge must have the same amount of clan members participating as the challenging clan (just like in a "real" clan war).
- NOTE: The clan accepting the challenge will be able to see the challenging clan on the war map before picking their own members. This is not to give an unfair advantage. This is to assist the clan accepting the challenge in properly balancing the war. Remember, this isn't meant for random clans. It is meant to be a friendly war. If the clan accepting the challenge tilts it in their favor (puts a bunch of Town Hall 11 members in while the challenging clan doesn't have anyone over Town Hall 9 for instance) then you should probably not war with them again.
- Once the war is accepted it is treated as a normal war (aside from what is listed in the last bullet point). This means that if you leave the clan mid-war you're still going to show that you aren't eligible for War for X amount of time.
- As this is a friendly war there would be no loot awarded for any attacks made or any wars won.
- This is to prevent clans from doing nothing but warring "sister clans" who aren't attacking in an attempt to get a lot of loot over and over.
Some people would argue that this is an attack simulator. To those people I would point out the following:
- This is treated as a normal war. Once you are in this war you have the same counter that says you are not eligible for another war for X amount of time. This isn't a person to person challenge, it's a war. The only simulation you're getting is if you RANDOMLY run across a person with the same base as what you're warring, but you would get that anyway with the current war structure (e.g. you war a random clan, you learn how to do an attack on a player's war base, you come across that same base layout in a random raid or war in the future, and you use the knowledge you learned).
- You don't get any loot or bonuses, so you're really losing resources by participating in this. There is no resource gain (or any gain aside from potential knowledge of how to make better attacks) to be made with this, and you would, in fact, lose resources (you would be spending elixir and dark elixir on troops that would not be rewarded back, and you would lose your heroes *if they were damaged* for X amount of time potentially leaving you open to an outside attack without your heroes for added defense).
- Friendly wars, and war attacks made in them, do not count towards any stats. Examples of what I am referring to are:
- War stars gained.
- Town Halls destroyed.
- Walls destroyed.
- Wars won.
- War streak.
- Any other stat or metric that increases in normal wars and/or raids.
I tried to make this as detailed as possible, but I'm sure my idea could still use some fine-tuning. If you can think of anything else to improve on this idea please let me know.
