Any "empty" space that is 3 x 3 can have troops deployed on, even if there is a hidden tesla/trap.
If you've stolen all/most of the resources in a battle and your King/Queen are still alive, surrender to save them from getting hurt further.
Healer + Queen can sometimes keep the Queen ready for more battles.
You can invite someone in your league who does not have a clan.
In order to protect your resources, leave your town hall vulnerable outside of your walls. An enemy may attack just your town hall giving you a free shield and leaving your resources alone. Even if your defense is decent enough to stop most attacks, you may lose more resources if multiple attackers don't hit 40%.
When attacking a base, try to lure out the clan castle troops before sending in a large army. Lure the troops far away from the base defenses and kill them with troops or a lightning spell.
Send in one aerial unit first before sending in many minions to test for aerial traps, which can wipe out a cluster of minions.
Don't use minions as part of your frontal force, but instead as backup/strategic troops to surgically target parts of a base.
You can tell when an x-bow or inferno tower are empty by looking at them closely. If they are empty, odds are most resources are in the collectors.
If the person you are attacking has a lot of resources and they are not in a league (except a day or so after league reset), odds are most resources are in the collectors.
Don't use giant bombs as part of your standard defense when farming, they are not worth it.
When dropping a troop to lose trophies on purpose, use King/Queen so you don't lose a troop.
Do not upgrade your town hall early.
You gain resources primarily from attacking, so focus your upgrades first on anything that helps your offense like Lab, Army Camps, Spells, Barracks. Defense is the ultimate goal, but your offense is what lets you up your defense. And the best resource defense in the game is leaving your town hall vulnerable anyway (tip above).
Clan castle is a great upgrade because it can be used as great defense and offense.

I discovered that lower level players tend to do stupid things to get muted. Well, mostly...
What are your observations?
No offense, but most of these are common knowledge. However, I disagree with one. Using a hero to drop trophies is more cost effective but less time effective than dropping one troop and hitting next. If you drop a barb and hit next, you lose at most 120 elixir and can drop lots of trophies quickly. When dropping with heroes, you can't drop and hit next because the battle will continue until the hero dies.Quote:

I have discovered that inferno towers obliterate dragons. Therefore, I can come to the conclusion that one should avoid inferno towers with dragons.
The best way to recruit in global chat is to start up a conversation with the person you are trying to recruit. It makes you stand out from the 15 people spamming JOIN ME! JOIN ME! I HAVE BALLOONS!
Also if someone says Hi in global and they don't have a clan, say Hi back instead of saying Join me!
When you are recruiting, raise your trophy level. Although the difference between Silver 1 and Gold 3 is the same as Silver 2 to Silver 1, having a golden league badge will help recruiting tremendously. Get those last trophies you need for a promotion!
