It's not a loophole they were using. They were using something explicitly against the rules. That's like saying, "Smart people cheat on their taxes." No, smart people don't cheat on their taxes. Smart people perhaps find ways to legally lower their tax burden. But, they don't outright cheat on their taxes and just hope not to get caught.

So while you joined them the rest of us who wanted to play fair took our beatings and yours as well.

And these "high level" war clans got there by cheating.. So what exactly makes them high level???

Cheaters are not going to find any sympathy in the forums....

What if the penalty for getting caught robbing a bank was you couldn't spend the money you stole for 2 weeks? Deterrent?

Wrong. Smart people can 3 star first try without copying someone's base and hitting it 10 times til they get it right. This is def the most fail thread I've seen lol.

The OP has a valid point here. A two weeks ban is nothing compared to all the benefit modders got from years of using it. It's not unlike to spend two weeks in jail for multimillion fraud... After the ban all the modders will be back, with better bases, walls, heroes, and, most important, the superior skill they were able to achieve from doing thousands of sandbox attacks. So, unless permabanned, they still have an enormous net benefit from their action.

Uninstall the app, uninstall COC, clean it with Clean Master, restart the device, reinstall COC, take it easy and you'll be safe.

Thing about that is you don't know if that software cleans the modded coc files completely.

This is why it is smart, even if it is a cheat.

Couple of suggestions regarding the encouragement of fair play and banning the modders/botters:

1) The CoC app could also take screenshots at random and send them back to the server, at least from suspicious or previously reported players to gather evidence of bots/mods. After all, CoC is in charge of the screen while the game is running so there shouldn't be anything else other than game components on the screen. If the screenshot reveals war attacks with traps/teslas visible or mod popups/icons you know what to do.

Of course the modders could intercept those screenshot commands and feed false data but that would slow down the whole process so the app would also need to measure the time it takes to take that screenshot and make sure it's reasonable.

2) Players banned for cheating should be outed in some way within their clan so that everyone knows. After all, there could be closet modders in "fairplay" clans and it would only be fair to the other clan members to let them know.

3) I second the previous suggestion of downgrading the wall levels of confirmed cheaters and maybe even the clan level of cheating clans even though I realize that this is somewhat trickier than it sounds.

4) If the bot detection mechanisms have anything to do with the version of the OS, please keep in mind that there are still a lot of people playing on older versions such as iOS 7 and iOS 8. If the mod detection does not work as well on those older platforms as it does on the latest OS versions, I'd say a mandatory update and forced migration to a newer OS is in order. We wouldn't want any modders hiding behind old OS versions, would we?

you forgot to add, to include a support function for "false positives" to contact sc to prove their innocence lol

and developing established methods for completely removing 3PS from device, like a COC update capable of doing it for example..
