Limit Amount Of Clans You Can Join?

Does anyone else think there should be a limit on the amount of clans you can join per week? If you could only be in one clan per week it would help new clans grow, it would make some players more loyal to a clan, it would cut down the amount of hoppers (obviously) but it would also help clans in wars because it's unfair when clans get left short by hoppers.

I know some will say no, but I truly think this would just make the game much better especially for new clans trying to grow.

Thoughts?

I think there needs to be some sort of formalized clan tree structure. Would help clans grow. Otherwise clan consolidation needs to occur on a large scale. Recruitment for a level 10 clan us now somewhat difficult.

1 clan change a week would kill the game. My mini may go back and forth between our clans 10-20 times a day if people need troops.

I can see the possitives but also several negatives to this.

My immediate thought: what about people who don't want to be in a clan, but join req and go clans for troops?

If implemented this'll mean the death of req and go clans, as well as, to some extent, clan less people.

New clans have a hard time growing no matter what anyways. If players could only join one clan per week it may force them to actually consider offers instead of joining and leaving straight away. If someone joins you know they have to stay a week or be forced to go without a clan for a week which many I feel would prefer to stay for a week and leave if it's not for them.

As for the kicked, I understand that fully, but what if they made it so if you were kicked it didn't count and only counted if you 'leave' a clan yourself?

I personally think while there is negatives about it there will be many more positives to it and clans would benefit much more. The amount of hoppers is insane.

Like I mentioned above, if people could be kicked and it didn't count towards this. It would allow req and go leaders to kick people and those people could join another clan still.

Basically, the one clan per week would only count if someone decides to click 'Leave' and not actually count if they were kicked. I think it would make a big difference while req and go clans would still be able to operate.

You're in a 10 person lv 1 clan with a preemie th9 leader. Instead of trying to change the game rules to imprison people in that clan you should take advantage of the fact you can leave and find another. Your account is pretty good for a th6.

You see, the clan i'm in isn't like most others. I don't care about being in the biggest and best clan and neither do the others. We play for fun and that is our aim. To many clans try and tell others how to play, how to hit, who to hit and have a list of musts and must nots. That to me isn't fun. We are a new clan and are trying to grow, but I didn't post this because people are coming and going from us. I just see on global so many hoppers it made me wonder if having a limit would benefit clans and personally I think it would.

And thanks for the comment about my base, I don't rush so it's long and grinding but hey ho :)

It's not about being the biggest or the best, your clan leader is going to put the clan in a disadvantage in war without th9 offense. But if you're cool with it that's all that matters.

Hoppers get a bad rap. Why force someone to stay in a clan that's not a good fit for them? If I go into a clan that looks good initially but ends up having problems like a bad war log, requests that don't get filled, or a dead chat then I don't want to stay. I don't think anyone should be forced to.

There is sometimes this notion, and you will see players on global looking for "loyal" players. To me that's a red flag that they have a hard time keeping players. They're basically asking that a player blindly join and stay forever. I don't think that's reasonable.

Personally, as long as a player makes his war attacks I don't care if they stay or go. I'd rather they leave right away if they don't like my clan than ditch during war.

How bout something similar in player profile so we know who is hopping.

On another similar game i play, the clan joining and leaving rules are different. You can join a clan (request or invited) but if you leave that clan once you join you cant join another clan for 2 hours, you get a 2 hour ban from joining any clan. After that 2hours you can join. If you are kicked from a clan you get a 24 hour ban from joining any clan. It has very few hoppers as people decide who to join more carefully, and they dont want to get kicked and banned from joining any clan. It works on that game. Could work here.

So if I have a completely wrong war army I need to dump it on the Goblin maps? This idea would literally break the game. I suppose I could donate it all but we fill requests so fast and I also might not have a push army or want to break my shield.

If you kick someone from a clan, they can't rerequest for 24 hours, so there would still be plenty of problems for players who join Request N Go clans, are members of a family of clans, or who like to visit friends in other clans.

If it's not, they have every right to run for the hills. The simplest and most obvious solution for clans who have problems with players who frequently leave is to stop putting them in war. If you admit a bunch of randoms just so you have enough to war without them having spent any time in the clan, you have no one to blame but yourself. Put a little effort into your new players. Ensure they have the ability to war by posting replays. Ensure they are a good fit for your team by talking to them. Ensure they're in for the long haul by making them wait. If a player can't wait one war, it's a pretty good sign he won't wait to walk out either.

I join a clan in the evening, its great.
Next morning I need defense, trophies at 5K, i need troops, noone is on.
I leave to find troops and a clan that works better for my time zone.
If ur clan meets player's expectations they stay, if not they leave.
Thousands of clans, millions of players.
Simple as that.

I'm not sure how this applies to this thread, but yes, I do expect my members to attack with suitable war armies. People who attack with whatever junk they happen to have on hand get booted. Hasn't broken my game. I spend waaaay too much donating to defensive clan castles and filling war requests for someone to get cheap on me.

I find it highly ironic that this suggestion is coming from a person who joined my clan, agreed to participate in a war, then left 12 hours into prep day without a word of explanation or apology. We assumed you had a reason, but that's irrelevant and I'm not interested in derailing the topic by bringing it up. Just wanted to remark that before you make these kinds of posts, you might want to consider what kind of double standards you're holding other players to.

Recruiting in general is something that I think the game has a lot of room to improve on. A lot of the hopping and transient issues I think come back to this.

Here are some of my ideas to improve the situation.

#1 - make it more difficult to create clans in the first place. Make it an achievement, like your Friend in Need must be above 50k. Watch global chat for 5 minutes and see how many complete strangers with brand new accounts are agreeing to form clans with each other. It's just silly, then they give out elder and co to every th5 they come across.

#2 - allow clans to have more filter options on who can and can't join, and link them to better metrics and achievements then trophies. I don't need to have another TH9 with level 1 golems, level 2 hogs, level 3 heal spells join. Or someone at TH10 with level 2 de drills and a level 5 AQ. Don't get me wrong, there should be a place for everyone, I just want to filter them out of my clan.

#3 - make more information available. Average time spent per clan. Total clans joined. I'd just like to see more metrics.

#4 - let clans clearly define their purpose better. War. Farm. Social. Hybrid. Development etc. This will help people get into the right clan and help them search better for a clan that suits them.

#5 - have SC create some static clans - leaderless - where people without clans can go and exchange troops, chat, etc. No wars in the clans. Have them be like game lobbies in other games. When one fills up, another automatically creates itself.

#6 - search functions are brutal in game. clan search needs to be improved and it would be nice to be able to search for players by their unique ID#.

What I'm saying is that if I was building for base #7 for a 3 star attempt, but someone failed on #2 if this silly policy was in place my options would be the following:

1. dump unneeded troops in Goblin map
2. Wait til people make requests so I can dump unneeded troops
3 do a mm attack with my army so I can build another
4. Invite people from globals in to take my excess troops, and they couldn't join another clan anytime soon.
5. Delete my troops, and get no refund on them
6. Convince myself that my wrong army will work for the new target


Because once I leave my clan I can't join another one

Whereas now-

1. Leave and check friendly clans if anyone needs my excess troops
2. If no, dump the troops in an open clan for refund and XP


That's how it applies to the thread.

I would be happy to see how long a person was in their previous clan and how many clans that person joined right there in the profile. It would help us from accepting nuisance players and would help the clan build a formidable core.

I think people just type it when their post is less than 10 characters, so that the forum will allow them to post.

it's a good idea, but 1 clan a week is too little. I like leaving my clan at the end of the season and visiting friends. Maybe like only 3 per day

I think a possible solution would be to prohibit people from joining another clan while they have a cool down timer from war. IMO the biggest problem with hoppers is having them leave during war without using attacks. Preventing someone who chose to leave during war from joining another clan until that timer has run out may encourage people to stay and use attacks before leaving. I would suggest with this, when you join a new clan your opt in/out automatically be set to out. This way people hopefully don't get put in a war they never wanted to be in, and they can opt in if they want to stay and war. Just my thoughts...

I gotta say I totally agree with what exlooner is saying here! Although I am a total looner still! :p

And yes yes I would rather people leave right away than leave during war! Very annoying!

But hoppers are just part of the game unfortunately and restricting people from "hopping" would be annoying for people like me who like to go walkabouts every now and then and visit and war with some awesome clans I have befriended in the 2 and a half years I've been playing.

So that would not work for me at all! So I say no to a limit!

I think there should be a list of what clans visited the past week. I hop around a lot (troops, chatting, 2 clans) but I'm not a hopper.

I disagree with point 3 because what if that person struggles to find the right clan for him or herself and has been in like 20 clans that day etc. Other than that good ideas.

Think it should be shortended to a day or a few hours

Limiting the amount of clans you can join is dumb. It would be the end of req n' leave clans and clan hoppers(both kinds) It would be very hard for someone to level up. Clan hoppers wouldnt have any clans to join, donate, and then leave because they couldnt join another clan. Request n' leave clans wouldnt be able to donate at all because there wouldnt be anyone to donate to. Clash of clans for me and many other people would be ruined if this feature was added.

Clash of clans thinks that this violates a privacy issue. They could give us something in a ballpark such as clan stamina or something. They can even include this in the achievements. If they have been loyal with a certain clan for more than 100 days first achievement etc...
