Shield attacking problem

Hello.

There was a problem I've been noticing happening recently, and for me, it's annoying.

Some people buy long shields, like the ones you see in the shop, and just keep raiding. Yes, eventually the shield will run out, but it's still a very long time. This allows them to attack as much as they want, and become invincible from revenge attacks. I feel that this is cowardly, lazy, and annoying.

So here is a solution.

If you buy a shield, and drop a troop down to attack, the shield will break completely, however, you will be refunded by the time left on your shield.

Instead of using your time fretting about people you can't revenge, why not just click the 'ol, 'Attack', button and move on with life?

I believe bought shield have cooldowns

Um no, I find it hard to believe that people do this.
Shields have a long cool down time and after a few attacks you'll be consuming 18 shield-hrs per attack, your one week shield will be gone in like a day or two at most if you do this and you can't buy another one for over a month. It sounds like you are just guessing that peolpe do this since you find them under shield when you try to revenge.

Well, I think that is balanced with the long cooldown times each shield has, like the 1 week shield has a 35 day cooldown, I think that's fair.

Why are there so many people obsessed with the revenge feature?

It is useless to be rude when replying to a serious problem like this. Also, note that shields do stack, so they can keep buying them, even if they have a cool down, the sheer length of it allows a cool down on the 1 day shield.

Actually this is not really accurate, you can't shield-stack through the cooldown if you are attacking two or more times a day.

It is not a serious problem, again the cost of attacking keeps increasing making this untenable.

The absolute most efficient rate you can pay for shield-stack-raiding is around 15 raids for 600 gems (40 gems/raid) and you can obtain this only once every 35 days. By contrast, boosting lets you produce troops 4x as fast; you can boost both heroes, both spell factories, and 4 DE/E barracks for 40 gems total...even in the worst case where this buys you only 1 additional raid per session, this would buy you 15 raids for 600 gems.


If you stack-shield as efficiently as possible, you will spend 21 out of every 35 days under purchased shields (60%). However, if you choose to attack through these shields, your first 7 attacks will consume a total of 48-shield hours and then you will be consuming more than 12 hrs per attack (increasing 4 hrs per attack).

Note this means you can't even make it through the 1-day shield cooldown to actually continue shield-stacking if you attack more than twice a day (5 days = 10 attacks-> 5 days of shield hrs consumed-> 10 total shield days consumed). You could technically time your last attack during your guard and then repurchase 1 day but this is it, you will only spend an additional 5 hrs shielded given your next attacks.

If you only attack once a day, you still can't make it through the 2 day shield cooldown.

This is a very expensive proposition, you spend 500 gems for 10 raids and can do it once every 35 days, it is far more efficient to boost offense or even just boost resources while shield-stacking.

I wish dead bases attack me with 1 barb. Then, revenge finally has a purpose.
