Content Creators: Coming soon to a forum near you!

Hey lovely forumers!

Exciting times here on the forums, as we are working on several ways to help the forum community grow, but also have some valuable content be easier to access. And one of the things in the works is the addition of the "Content Creator" badge.

We are fortunate enough to have members on the forum who also double up as YouTubers, Podcasters, Streamers and so on.

But, their content is usually limited to their platform of choice. And such content can often be hard to find, due to the sheer volume of people making it. This badge allows us to easier distinguish who those people are on the forums, and also make their content a little more visible, while adding helpful community building content, to our forums.

This badge allows Content Creators to step out of the YouTubers corner a little bit, and post their videos in the relevant subforums. Please note, that this is not a free pass for all their videos to be plastered over the forums. There are several rules which must be followed by these Content Creators.
Some of which include but are not limited to:

• The content must add some sort of value to the forums.
• The content must abide by forum rules: No swearing, no exploit discussion, no bumping e.c.t.

Now we can't just go handing out this badge to anyone, so you do have to meet some requirements.

• The forum user must be mature and responsible.
• The forum user cannot have any active forum infractions.
• The forum user must have over 150 posts.
• The forum user must have over 6 months of activity on the forum.

These are the main rules, however there are more only privy to the moderators for when selecting new Content Creators. Moderators will be selecting and asking members if they want to take on the role. There is no open application you can take on, however you're more than welcome to Private Message me in regards to the possibility of it.

And that's it, over the coming days you will begin to see these people pop up over the forum.

Desde que se abaixou o tempo da batalha de 3:30 para 3 minutos perdi muitos ataques perfeitos graças ao tempo, resultando em perca de muitos trofeus que eu poderia ter levado por causa apenas destes 30 seg. Clash já foi mt bom mais vem decrescendo a qualidade do melhor jogo(para mim) atualmente sou player a 4 anos este é primeiro tópico que crio! Peço apenas que a supercell pense mais nos player que jogam na raça, pois seis que 70% dos valores obtidos pela mesma são do top ranks e não crítico as mudanças pedidas por eles apenas revendico a volta do tempo normal de batalha! Se for atendido agradeço muito a supercell obrigado.

I got an infraction once, for speaking out too strongly against bunnies. That's right... Against them.

I hang out mostly in the HD and CoC subforums. IIRC, I read a post from a Mod warning us that infractions never
expire and we will be banned from the forums if we accumulate enough infractions.

I tried using the forum search engine but can't find the specific post.

I can't tell you how many times I've tried to help out and post video responses that DIRECTLY answer the question asked by an OP.

It is met with sincere thanks by the OP every single time, but there are always the forum Nazis going OMG YOUTUBERS CORNER YOU NOOB.

It'll be a welcomed change being able to help folks out with visual examples without having tomatoes thrown from the audience.

Unfortunately not. Current GASPS who are also content creators will get to choose :)
Instagram can be classed as a content creator, but the content has to be community building and be of some benefit to people.

No minimum subscriber count. We dont want to make the smaller guys content even harder to find.
Anyone who has good content, are consistent with uploading, and bring something to the table, have a shot :)
Unlike the GASP group, this will potentially be a much larger group.

Active meaning - counts as a point on profile. Warning/reversed infractions to not count.
An active infraction will show as a red card and 1 point on your profile, you have none :)

When everybody has a badge, badges won't matter. So when can we expect the TH11 badge? I mean they have been around awhile too, they should know something. Maybe a fluorescent orange badge for fresh spawn? If you are a noted trouble maker, the badge could be black with white letters. If you see orange and black together in a post, you would know to get some popcorn.

I see what you're coming from. But look at this - we have over a million forum members. Having about 50 of those with badges won't be too...boring.

Will this end up also meaning, only people with said badge can post a link to a helpful video they made? Or can we just carry on as normal... people without a badge can still link to a helpful video if it is relevant, they just won't have the badge?

Not that I want one, but for people like me, I have 2 infractions that never expire, but they were both small instances that I doubt would ever happen again. I got 1 from a huge and short rage moment, and another one for a small insult (which was over 2 years ago). My last infraction was from October of 2014...so people that have infractions that never expire...even if it was from forever ago...won't be able to get a chance at this? I know this also applies to mod and other stuff, but I mean like 1 and a half years is a lot of time...and I'm still stuck with it. I don't know, I feel like people in my situation should get a break if the most recent infraction (and isn't too bad) is from like over 2 years ago.

I feel like that was very disorganized, so sorry about that, lol

I know exactly what you mean. I've developed a group of anti-fans, for doing nothing other than what you just said. The person on the receiving end is grateful, and some 'nice guy' always has to come along afterward and post some toxic reply about it.

The game needs development content; the forums do not need more fanboys; the forums need supercell community managers to take an active interest - more value to the forums can be fixed by supercell alone when they decide that ignoring their player base does not work!

These kinds of of new titles mean very little while the game itself is having a blood transfusion!
SC should ask their clash community managers just which community are they managing?

I have to agree here. I think it is a cool idea to give recognition to those who create quality clash content, but with the state the game is in now, with the decisions SC has recently made and their poor handling of their player base leading to a loss of active players and an obvious drop in revenue that has the #1 grossing app for years in jeopardy of being overtaken by candy squishing and Arnold Schwarzenegger, we need more than shiny new badges on the forum and another heaping serving of silence from SC.

Of course the content must be relevant. A badge on your name is not a license to spam at will. Also, agreed on Manyolo. He is very helpful and knowledgeable. His contribution is very worthy of the title.

A community manager may employ the help of delegates. That's smart, as the community is much larger than this forum alone, and it's a big world out there. Even Santa has his elves. Being one of Santa's elves has it's responsibilities though, and it does not give them free rein. They have rules to follow.

Again, this is not a license to spam. It's simply nothing more than an acknowledgment that the posters who wear the badge have had their content vetted by Super Cell.

Surely, helpful, relevant content can only be a good thing. It's not like the forum will suddenly be filled with unrelated ads. If someone has a question, and there is an outside source available, which adds value to the discussion, or answers a question, a link to that content will be shared. Guess what... That is no different than what we already do. Some people are leery about clicking on links to outside content though. The badge is only there for those people to know that the creator of that content has been acknowledged by Super Cell to be responsible enough to follow the rules outlined above. Ultimately though, you will still have the choice to view or not view the material!

Well my question is, since i "restarted" my YT Channel (Was above 3000 Subs 1,5y ago) in German.... is it possible to get it as a german YTber or only with english content?

I thought about this and well i can sync the same content with english and german audio so everyone can hear it. I think not a lot of people are doing this, but since i really wanna help everyone and of course spread my ideas (not only for german guys) to everyone.

I hope it is ok this way :D

My intent was not to infer that those selected as content creators would abuse that role, or even that this is a bad idea at all. I actually think it is a great idea, and I will give SC the benefit of the doubt (though probably not warranted) as far as selecting deserving members.

My observation is that while this is a nice feature, the game appears to be spiraling downward, and while many players still are enjoying playing, many also are not.

Clearly players have left, clearly we are not playing the "top grossing app" anymore, while it was exactly that just a few months ago, more players cross the bunny picket line every day, SC tells us they're going to be more vocal with the community then goes awol... again. The buff/nerf carousel has consumer confidence at an all time low, clouds are worse, and combining farming and trophy hunting has ruined one, the other, or both styles for many players, yet they are focused on spicing up the YouTube corner.

To me this is akin to having long standing issues with defensive imbalance, clouds, cheetahs, lack of raid strategy diversity, non-competitive war matches, to name a few, and then deciding to remove th snipes, solving no problems but adding the potential for new ones. The recent GASP promos, while adding much needed help to the forum leadership, appeared to put the SC rubber stamp of approval on the "adapt or quit" crowd, so please forgive me if I don't see only the positive side of this idea as well.

I do appreciate your perspective, and you taking the time to share it though. For real content creators like you, this is an excellent tool for getting exposure for your material. I just wish SC wasn't defending their game like the Barb King vs an air raid, standing with a question mark over their head while the town burns down around them.

I understand your point as well. The issues you've brought up though are issues for the developers. They're not the same people who run the forum. They each have different jobs to do. One develops the game, and one represents the face of the game.

Just because an effort is being made to touch up the forum does not mean that game development is taking a back seat. That is just as silly as the comments that some people make about Super Cell putting COC on the back burner in order to work on Clash Royal. Those are two different development teams, just as the developers and community managers are two different teams.

Also, these new badges do not apply only to COC. There are content providers for each of Super Cell's games. This will be for the whole forum--not just the COC portion of the forum.

Cool.... but now you will be giving the complainers something else to say needs nerfed :p

Cant answer the question above, but you will also need 150 posts minimum and a minimum 6 month old forum account.

As for other languages, I cant see why not, but you won't really be able to post videos in other forums as they would be german videos for english questions.. Maybe you can earn the badge, you just wouldn't be posting them in the forum.

Address the REAL problem, game play is less and less enjoyable now and people are quitting like never before...

If you don't wake up and understand you're a game company and games MUST be fun for its players to play you can do anything you want to 'grow' your communities but if people aren't playing the game those communities are about, it's not very likely they will grow. Only way to grow is to get more players playing your game, and that will only happen if it's fun and not the endless grind the average player cannot overcome without spending a fortune on gems.

• The forum user must have over 150 posts.
• The forum user must have over 6 months of activity on the forum.

These are the main rules, however there are more only privy to the moderators for when selecting new Content Creators. Moderators will be selecting and asking members if they want to take on the role. There is no open application you can take on, however you're more than welcome to Private Message me in regards to the possibility of it.

And that's it, over the coming days you will begin to see these people pop up over the forum.

Maybe it's an idea for SuperCell to fíx the game, instead of trying to let the community fix it.

I saw someone under forum Chiefs with the title "content creater" he had 0 posts recently but now the person is gone"

He had a few people VM congratulating about the badge.

What are the content creators suppose to do? Spam valks and then show it here? Even YouTubers got bored and stopped. I think, threads about it keep getting closed for unknown reasons.

When I read the title, I thought modding tools would be released to the public, allowing the community to make custom content that would have to go by SUPERCELL first before officially being released in the game.

Why don't we just call them Supercell Advertising and Proliferation Volounteers? Would be nice if some of these "content creators" got something in return from SC for their hard work, which is really just adds up to free advertising for their multi billion dollar company.

Pretty good racket these guys have going if you think about it. They sell us things then take them away after they have our money, they don't pay beta testers but instead use their players to do the job for free, they don't pay for most of their advertising instead letting their "youtubers" do the job in exchange for what? Gems? Trips to Helsinki and inside information? I wouldn't be surprised if their gems are made in sweatshops in Vietnam by 7yr old children.

What you said is completely false.

Supercell owns the copyright to Clash of Clans and its logos. They are already nice enough to allow people to use their trademarks for free as per the Fan Content Policy. If they were really money grubbers, they would charge content creators to use Clash of Clans.

In return for the content creators, many of them make money (through monetizing their content such as on YouTube). The ones that don't either don't have enough subscribers, or don't care about making money and just want to help the community.

Super Cell gets advertising from the YouTubers, but the YouTubers get pimped out by Super Cell, which leads to subs and views, and that leads to ad revenue. It's win-win.

It does help people learn. Why does Jake do a recap of every war in OH? So other people can watch OH attacks and learn from them.

I agree with you that spamming 300 troops on a developer iPad is not a good video. I make sure to say so in the comments, and give a thumbs down for those who continue to do that.

As far as not learning from commentary... That is very wrong. I commentate over my clan mates videos, and that leads to two things... First of all, it requires thought on my part, in order to break down an attack and articulate why it works. Secondly, my clan mates watch these videos, and yes, their own attacks get better. I don't know about you, but that sounds like learning to me. It feels a lot like learning too. Could it just be that your oversimplified generalization is simply not a rule that is always true? I'm inclined to say it's the later, rather than the former.

Whether there is commentary or not, something can be learned by seeing successful attacks, if you are open to it.

Even a video which does a pre attack plan run down and then commentary over the attack still cannot cover every possible thing which could be learned. In other words, there is not enough time in a short video to cover every possible thing that could be learned.

And if the person did try to cover every possible thing that could be learned, they do not know how much the viewer already knows. And then people will complain they are covering things already known and the video drags on too long. So... complain they don't cover enough info and complain they cover too much - unwinnable situation where the creator cannot please everyone.

My first time doing a goho where a sneaky outside tesla popped, I didn't know how to deal with it. Just threw down an extra wiz to try to deal with the trash so they could get to the tesla quicker. What a mess. - But then... our clean up game came on, drop the golem and a hog. And that stuck with me... no commentary... an observed thing only... learning without commentary just by watching. From then on, I knew how to help deal with a sneaky outside tesla quicker on a fresh hit.

It's a good thing that we have different opinions. Are you trying to convince me that you deserve a purple badge. I don't have a horse in that race. I'm hoping that only one person doesn't get any type of badge. Let me try this again I don't think anyone learns from the ones I've watched from certain tubes. Never tried to watch other video's. Maybe some new blood can change my opinion on how I look at video's.

I have a few video ideas that are more for community fun. Can't wait to do that as a content creator!

Like I said I don't think people learn from just putting commentary on a vid. The ones I tried to watch went like this my clan mate is putting down his golems, putting down wb put down pekka put down hogs then king and Queen dropped rage dropped heal another heal spell. He got 80 % here is another another clan member same commentary as above. These are the vids I'm talking about. No instructions of AI why put certain troops here or what to watch out for like bombs, skeleton traps, air bombs. Does this explain what I'm saying. Not trying to discredit people's work.

Badges aside, I've learned a lot from commentary. I've also learned from the thought process of breaking down an attack for my own commentary.

It's one thing to watch an attack. It's another thing altogether though, to understand why it works. It's understanding which allows us to duplicate these techniques. That's learning.

I put in a post that the ones I watched only said what troops dropped what spells dropped etc. No instructional commentarie. I would think to help you would need say why came in there with these troops dropped spells here because. Did I explain it better. I could chosen words better my bad. Do you understand be better now. Like I said above, play-by-play is not commentary. Commentary explains. Play-by-play is pointless if it doesn't serve a purpose.
