I think either just a tab for friends to buy stuff or NH just like in the boat would be sufficent. Maybe 2 tabs or just a choice on any of your previously opened to sell to everyone/neighbourhood/friends would be good.

I agree with you 100%. I have never understood these raiding rants. RSS is a shop to sell. Anybody can buy. If you don't like this feature, then don't sell. And neighbourhoods are not for selling exclusively, IMHO
And perhaps you forget there are new players entering the game all the time, they don't visit these forums and therefore they don't KNOW that they are raiding, according to your standards (that are not SC's standards, either).
And I've never understood the people who continually complain about raiding rants. Especially when no one is talking about blocking shops from new players entering the game, or preventing any random people from buying.
What's being discussed is simply how to defend against particular, long-term, abusive, antisocial, shop campers who continually buy everything in your shop for days and weeks, and in this case months, on end. The same single person over and over and over again. Which prevents you from trading, sharing, playing and enjoying the game with ANYONE else. If you think that's fun then I invite you to try it.
The only people who can possibly defend this behavior are people that haven't yet experienced it.
Shepherd Girl, you might want to read this thread, especially the last few pages.

I just don't sell stuff anymore.. I know that's not really an answer or a help, and not an option for most. Too often I have had even my own items passing between my little farm and big farm bought by some stranger passing by (sheesh, if you can't even sell stuff to yourself knowing exactly which crate at what moment and tapping constantly and when with distraction items up front in a huge rss)... So I don't trade off the big one, pass very little to neighbors, and don't sell anything there but tofu dogs and wheat. It's a pain in the rear end as I am naturally more inclined to helpfulness and giving away good stuff I have extra of, particularly with neighbours, but also friends and followers. But it's just not worth it for the hassles when far too many can find me so easily... In last 7 days I sold 30 tofu dogs, and that is all, nothing else posted. Happily they were all to people I know doing what I myself do, buying unlovely things to say ty for a big boat help or hi, or both. I used put lots of fruit unadvertised for neighbours and friends but I stopped as I grew too disheartened at this or that greedy one that would hoover up 500-1000 or more at a time leaving nothing for anyone else, so no more. Sorry lovely level 35 follower who helped my boat, I wanted you to be able to have those 10 or 20 cheap cherries as a return gift but it just wasn't possible. Shame I can't give those I want to thank access to anything of actual quality or value in game.
i would be all for a block or restricted access option, but doubt SC have it on the table as something under consideration.
Think of it as part of the game.
The farm is pretty idyllic and nothing bad ever happens. Except for accidentally selling 2/3 of your axes to Greg or accidentally hiring Tom for 10 days.
And...apparently occasionally attracting a "raider/stalker".
If it was another game and you were being raided you would take steps to protect your property. Strategize, change your game play if you have to.
In Hay Day you can choose to not help anyone in the DD, as per the OP.
In some cases you can't stop being "raided". But you can take steps to make your shop less attractive to them.
Enjoy the change. Use it as an opportunity.
Whats the the point of playing a game that leaves you frustrated?
Your time is valuable too.
Have fun. Accept the challenge. Or just leave it.
I admire ur attitude, Sparkly...I really do. What people are doing now is helping less in the DD because of potentially attracting a raider...selling less or selling nothing at all, strategizing their gameplay to do things they normally wouldn't do. Is that really what SC envisioned their players to be doing? Don't help, sell nothing? I'm gonna go out on a fat limb and say no...it's unintended. Look at Tomville's post, she's not selling anymore now and who's affected by it? Her friends and followers. Yea, we can adapt to it, we can take steps to prevent it from happening...easy enough. Some of us already have, but the rippling effect is more consequential than one might think and those who used to enjoy helping in the DD will tell u the same thing.
It's not even helping in the dd (which I haven't done in so long I forget the last time) it's the boat leader board. That thing is a nuisance. Also when we have events with top contributers or contributers (period) posted, along comes someone just when I have posted in my RSS. I sell feed mostly. Lots and lots of feed. Now tell me who needs 300 bags of feed? Then comes back and hour or two later to buy 200 more? That's just ridiculous. I make feed for my neighbors. We all seem to forget to make it and it's a convenience to know that anyone can drop by and grab some so they don't have to see the shivering sheep or chickens laying on their backs or whatever it is that goats do. So if any of my friends/neighbors wander over and the shop is flat empty you will know why. Nuff said from me.
