Lab Priority

So I'm almost done Town Hall 8 now, I 11 Purple walls and then my defence is done. However I encountered a problem. My Laboratory is going to take some time to finish (48 Days) and I can't wait that long especially with my Dark Elixir and Elixir building up. So next Wednesday I'm going to Town Hall 9 (April 13th). And with that being said I have 20 days left in the lab until I get to the Town Hall 9 lab. (Building time for the Town Hall, Wait time plus time it takes for the laboratory to upgrade). I already have Level 5 Archers being done for this Friday and now I want some advice on what I should prioritize for before I go to Town Hall 9.

Remaining Troops:
Archers Level 5 (Already being done)
Barbarian Level 5
Giants Level 5
Goblins Level 5
Wall Breaker Level 5
Healer Level 3
Minions 3 and 4

Spells:
Poison Level 2
Earthquake Level 2

I already considered leaving the spells as just having them is good enough and since the nerf with poison I find it useless and I need to use support troops anyway. Earthquake is good enough as 4 breaks any wall.

Maybe if you read what I said you would understand that I'm not waiting 48 Days, let my DE and Elixir drain, just so I can have some troops that aren't even that great.

Which do you use the most? Of your choices... I would pick giants, healers, and wllbrks but that is based upon my needs. I have little use to upgrade troops I never use except when I am swimming in elix and the lab is free.

I'd do your Giants and your healers before hitting th9. The lv6 Giant and max healer are awesome for farming (in some cases war as well). Upgrading them now will give you a headstart on them, instead of having to do 2 levels of each at th9.
Barbarians are a good choice as well, as your King will spawn and rage the level of barbs you unlocked.

Ah well, came out a bit strong there. Ofcourse everyone should decide for themselves. Maxing th8 entirely just doesn't make sense, but each to their own :smirk:

So TH9 had 120 days of lab upgrades and that was about 1 year ago when I calculated it. So now that they have new goblin levels and dark spells I would say its at around 140-150 days.

You need to max everything in your lab before moving to the next TH level or you will fall behind.

Having builders idle seem like a sin to me. Esp for TH8 as TH9 unlocks the queen, which is easily 157.5 days minimum and also the dear king which takes 130+ days to max.

Completely agree with you moving up early. doesn't make sense to lose all that DE and Lix to maxed storages. Upgrade priority is based on what you value more. if you enjoy war, upgrade your lab and start on war troops. if you value farming id recommend giants, barbs and arch. if its a mix id recommend you start farming troops so that you will be able to progress faster and enjoy both facets of the game.

I had 70+ days of lab upgrades left when I finished everything else at th8. I stayed until everything was done. Went to th9 with full storages and full treasury, plus was the most popular guy in my clan thanks to over two months of donations of huge numbers of expensive troops.

Giants for sure, you're going to want to get them to 6 early on in TH9 for farming, L6 Giants are a beast.

It looks like you've upgrade the war troops first, good for you. With that in mind you'll want WB 5 for your war attacks at TH9 because you are going to start seeing more lego walls to bust through.

Barbs - the BK brings a bunch of them to every war attack, make them stronger.

That would be my plan.
